At
the same time as meeting new team members from the marketing department, my
workload tripled- in a good way of course. For the batteries department I was
asked to do a battery competitor analysis.
This was done by calling three motorbike battery stores. I found this interesting,
as I probably would never call these places in the future. In addition, I was
also asked to write a 300-word blog article on why the RAC has started selling
motorbike batteries manufactured by Motobatt, the benefits of these batteries
and the benefits RAC members will receive from purchasing the battery. I was
really excited about doing this project, as I was able to expose my writing
skills. I researched for hours, trying to familiarise myself with the battery
model, not so much with why the RAC started selling it and the benefits members
could receive as I had already been informed considering I work on a casual
basis in the contact centre. After sending it through, I got amazing feedback,
and was told they were going to use it- I was really relieved and overwhelmed. As
a result, I have also in the meantime been asked to write out a second blog
article on skyActiv technology. Yet again, I need familiarise myself with this,
as I have no clue on what SkyActiv technology is. Once completed, I shall write
about the process and feedback in my future blog.
I
have been privileged in having the opportunity to work amongst lovely people.
They have been so helpful and understanding throughout my days when I am with
them. They take out the time to see how I am going and we spend sometime just
chatting away about random topics- really outgoing friendly people.
I
have almost completed my Auto Service competitor’s analysis, just finalising
the report. This project has been an ongoing one; you would be able to get the
full description of this in my first blog.
So far my findings have noted not much difference from previous years, in
terms of percentage difference, yes price has gone up for some and gone down
for others, but it has shown to have changed throughout all the company’s.
As I
started my internship at the end of March, the free2go competition currently
live since the 5th of May 2014, was something I was not apart of as
that project was started sometime before I commenced. However, I was privileged to
see how the final steps were going: Was there for one little meeting with the
web designer, and had a listen to both radio scripts before it went live and
gave out my opinions- they were so funny and in my opinion, great!
I am
learning a heap about the RAC, I am also learning and familiarising myself with
how similar sized organisations operate. Its not as simple as one might think.
So much work needs to be done for even the smallest of things, especially when
there is a budget and deadlines to meet.
All
in all, so far I am loving every minute of my internship.
