Pay Attention to details
Hi everyone!
This is my third blog that I’d like to share with you. In our job, I think attention to detail is quite import.
At the beginning of August, I was asked by my supervisor to do PR reports for clients. I have no clue how to do a PR report. Luckily, my supervisor explained to me patiently without embarrassing me. Now I know what PR report is and what it looks like. It is simply just putting all Whipper Snapper Distillery articles together from Newspaper, Magazines etc and put into a power point format in order to present it to our clients. I thought the job was so easy that I promised my supervisor I would have it done in 2 hours. The first hour, I tried to search as many articles as possible. The second hour, when I put it together into power point, there were some problems. Some articles are too long, after five of screenshots of the article; it won’t fit onto the page no matter how much I tried to make them smaller. Finally, I made it. However, when I tried to group five parts together in to one page, I didn’t realize some sentences in the bottom of page were missing. After five hours, I was still not finished with the task. It was not easy as it had seemed. Under time pressure, at the end of the day, I handed it in to my supervisor.
The next day, my supervisor took me to her office and told me my PR reports performance was poor because some articles sentences were missing. She told me in our job field, we are not only requires to act professional, have ethics, hard work, but we also need to pay attention to details. I have been asked to do my job again in order to present it to clients nicely. It took me three weeks to finish! But it was nicely presented to clients.
