The wide world of truffles!

HI everyone!
I am coming to you quite late in the game, I’m afraid but it has been a very busy few weeks. I am now just half way through my placement at a small boutique consultancy operating out of Subiaco in Perth. The company is called CSPR (Christine Silbert Public Relations) and is run by one very busy lady, Christine.
So far I have been involved in a couple of projects but my main focus is the Manjimup Truffle Affaire and the Mundaring Truffle Festival.
Basically The Wine and Truffle Co of Manjimup in southwest WA launch the start of their harvest season with a big celebration of the truffle. This year this event is happening on the 30th and 31st of May just as the first truffles are ready to be unearthed.
The first thing I had to do when taking on this project was learn everything I possibly could about truffles. Let me tell I am somewhat if an expert now!
I have been lucky enough to get the opportunity to have a bash at writing media releases and also a media proposal requesting the presence of a particular television personality to one of the events. This was very challenging and unlike anything I had done before but also very exciting and quite fun!
A lot of my time is spent updating and consulting PR’s best friend the old media list! I’m sure everyone is familiar with these in their various placements. This, as I’m sure you’re aware is very time consuming but I am also finding it to be quite educational as I am learning about many publications and media outlets I never knew existed!
So far I have already learnt so much, makes me wonder if you’re brain can get too full!!
