Today marks my last day of my internship in Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri.
Before I leave my placement I was assigned to prepare a slide on my experiences with them. Basically a report on overall my experiences on my 26 days of internship.
The moment when your done with your placement is the feeling of joy. But definitely a good joyful kind of way where you gain experiences for dealing with the real world of the working environment. Sadly there is part of you going to missed answering phone calls, paper works, faxing and others. But most of all for me, I'll be missing the staffs that you create a bond with them whereas your are being accepted by all them. Some have helped you when you seek for questions and assistance.
Firstly, PR person should always have a good connection with everyone who they work closely with. Other than that, I feel honored to be part of their organization. From the first day, I was so shy when it comes to asking them for inquiries, as the day passed I managed to have a coffee talk with them.
Secondly, being yourself in an organization. Being a friendly and humble as a PR person will definitely will bring you to the top. Based from my experience is that never try to be who you are not, always be friendly and humble meeting up with new people. As a PR person, you tend to meet and build up new relationship with different kind of clients. Because the way you present yourself can tell what kind of person you are.
Thirdly, always be positive when you came across with failure. Nothing in this world is easy and there is no easy access for us to cheat. As a PR person, I would not lie if I faced any failure during my internship. Instead of feeling like a loser, Heads up! Take it as a lesson. From there you learn from the mistakes that you made and make it better in the future.
In a nutshell, I would love to work in a PR firm. PR is fun where as long you have the right attitude and always have the positive energy will definitely makes it fun. At the end of the day, life is a full with challenge, to get to the top a lot of circumstances we need to face. Doing my placement clearly has prepared me before I stepped to real working world. A new chapter begin soon.
