State Level and Sarawak Level Shell Traffic Game.

"Safety is not a gadget, but a state of mind." - Eleanor Everet.

It is always nice to start a blog post with quotes as a brief introduction of the content.

Shell Traffic Game is an event organized by Shell in collaboration with various government departments such as the police, Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalanraya (road transport department) and etc.
It is a period where every schools in every state will take part in the event as the extra curriculum activities while emphasizing on the importance road safety.

State Level and Sarawak Level Shell Traffic Game is where participated schools from each state compete with one another on road safety and winner will represent Sarawak to compete in International Level.

Prior to the commencement of the big event, all staffs were on deck to make this event a success. During pre-event, while everybody was finishing up with their assigned tasks, I was in charge of following up with the invited guests such as councilors, guests of honors on their attendance confirmation, along with media communication with the press, to make sure our event get news coverage.

State Level Shell Traffic Game was held on 2nd of September 2015 at Bulatan Park Miri meanwhile Sarawak Level Shell Traffic Game was held on 3rd of Septermber 2015 at the same venue. The event started at 8am until 4pm, which was separated into three categories such as pedestrians, cyclists  and drivers for both primary schools and high schools students.

Students droved the above car for driving category.

Before the arrival of councilors and guests of honors, all working committees and staffs were finalizing on finishing touches of the events, including the arrangement of gifts and certificates, setting up refreshments, and confirmation on numbers of media presence for the event.

As the guests and press arrived at the venue, they were assigned to their seats and were given a cap with Shell logo printed  on it.

Participants and guests were given the above cap during the event.

Media clipping is essential at the end of every event in order to keep record of achievements one organization has done and for future references. After the successful Shell Traffic Game event, I head back to the office the next day to monitor which media agency published our event.

Prizes for participation and consolation prizes were being prepared to be given to the participants which included certificates, gifts and souvenir from Shell. Even as an intern, I was given souvenir for being involved with the event.

Participants and myself were given the above bag as souvenir.

That’s the end of State Level Shell Traffic Game. It was a successful event indeed, and worth every single sweat and efforts.

Have a great day!
