Many times we have a target in our mind. However, should that target be set way up there or should we set it pretty low, so that we don't get disappointed if we do not hit target?
The truth is, there is no right answer. As for us though, we set it way up there because we believe that if you set your goals high, you would never fall short. Our target was to get around 20-30 sponsors for our Relay For Life Curtin Event. We went to shops to shops, emailing every possible sponsors and even asking if any of the committee members knows people that would be interested to sponsor. The businesses that we targeted were the surrounding areas of Curtin University, in Waterford; Victoria Park; and Northbridge.

Just some of our success stories:
1) Berry Me (Waterford), they offered to sponsor us with discount vouchers.
2) Priceline (Waterford), they offered to sponsor us gifts! Lots of little packages of facial products; nails products which totalled up to $500.
3) Viva had recently offered to give us 40 x $550 vouchers, 3 x $750 vouchers for 1st place, 3 x $650 vouchers for 2nd place and a $1250 voucher for the best dressed team. This totalled up to a whooping amount of $26,200! 

In return, we would help them advertise their business, by putting them on our E-Newsletter, Website, Banner, Posters and by Word of Mouth.
We are all extremely pleased with ourselves as we had currently reached about 10 on-board sponsors. Even though, we have not yet reached our target at 20-30, we still have hope for the remaining time we have left as to get the other 10 sponsors.
