Step into my Office!

Hi Guys!

Sorry it's been a while since my last post - it's been a crazy couple of weeks.

I'm excited to share with you my very own office here at Youth Focus!

So i've had the opportunity to complete some really cool tasks for Youth Focus.
Some of these tasks include; scheduling Facebook posts (who knew you could schedule a post??), adding clients into the database 'MailChimp', sourcing Journalists to publish media releases, sourcing grants/awards, cross promotion and editing a sponsorship proposal.

These tasks have opened my eyes up to the wonders of the internet and what it can do for an organisation that deals with a huge client base.
I never knew there was a software system such as 'MailChimp' that collates and keeps client details up to date.
A lot of the work I'm doing for Youth Focus heavily relates to the unit Media Relations I did here at Curtin - especially when it comes to sourcing Journalists and the etiquette that goes with it.
I was worried I wouldn't be able to link my studies to my internship, but it turns out I'm actually teaching my co-ordinator the format of a media release using the upside down triangle method!

I feel like i've settled in really nicely - everyone in the office is so welcoming and friendly. I actually don't feel like the 'intern', I feel as though this is my job and coming in is completely normal.
Personally something I value in the workplace is employee morale, I believe it effects the type of work one produces. Working in such an open and friendly environment certainly boosts my morale!

Until next time!
