Fashion World as a PR Intern

1.       Working in the fashion industry.
The internship I did gave me exposure of the fashion world of Mauritius. This industry is very concise as though it is wide spread, the networks are mostly closed. Working with models, fashion designers, choreographers and sound and light designers opened my eye on a whole new world. The idea of having female models as stewardesses at events is very trendy, common and fortunately, very successful.

The models at my firm did not only shoot for magazines, campaigns and marketing related projects, they also performed the role of hosts in events, which is in line with PR.
The world of bling bling is rosy from the outside but glamorous as it is, it requires a huge planning. The behind the scenes planning and execution is very meticulous and to the point. One wrong move and the whole show misses the chance to successful.

The competition in this industry is fierce and challenging. In order to keep up to the standards, many aspects need to be taken into consideration; from the costumes to the ramp and so on. The guests need to be satisfied, and by guests, I am not saying clients. The responsibility of the guests at the event is on the firm and even if the client seems to be pleased with the service offered, it becomes a bad publicity if the attendees are not showing positive response.

Hence, the stressful life of an intern at this firm was worth gold in terms of exposure and experience. Any mainstream girl would love to work in the fashion industry, and I discovered to what extent I grew a fondness for this world with all its side effects of mental and physical stress.
