Event Update & Social Media

To update you guys about my last blog post, Chanel’s birthday was a huge success. When it came down to it on the day we were rushed for time but everything came together perfectly. Here’s a few pictures for you to see for yourself!

From this event I feel like I’ve already gained so much experience as an intern. For example, in terms of going about events, prioritising, time management and communication skills. As I mentioned earlier, we were rushed for time a little, which is why for our following events I believe we should really focus on time management. Timing is really important because when an event starts, it starts, and everything has to be ready. If it’s not it can certainly look bad on our team, we could lose clients and gain a negative reputation.

In addition to events management, KAAT is also a PR consultancy and assists other small business with their PR and publicity efforts. For instances, they promote other businesses on their personal Facebook and Instagram pages. Recently, I was given the task to post about a graphic designer/photographer. Here was my post.

The aim of this post was to be inviting to new customers and demonstrate the well developed relationship between KAAT and TNBC, and that they are a regular and reliable client of KAAT. Posts like these will help to create awareness and indirectly boost links to TNBC online website.

This task reminded me of a similar assignment in Media Relations where we had to post status updates to our Twitter account utilizing popular hash tags. These days social media plays a huge role in all types of businesses, and especially for those in a PR profession. Having a career in PR you are expected to know how to use many social media platforms so that you can develop and manage going client relationships.

In the future, if I find myself in a PR profession or any career where I have to manage my business’s social media accounts, I am confident that I have the skills and experience to do so successfully.

Until next time cheers!
