Relay For Life Curtin (THE BIG DAY!)

The big day had arrived! Being the only committee member with a team to participate in the event, i was super busy and super excited. It was such an amazing day! We had petting zoo, candlelight ceremony, bands parade, bouncy castle, food stalls, games, tug-o-war, silent disco, singing and dancing performances, Triple Js Djs and of course the participants who dressed up as their theme! I saw an awesome group that dressed up as the Star Wars characters. It was amazing how much effort people put in for Cancer. I'm really delighted to see that even with the worst weather (Rain, Storm and Thunder), people were still walking around the oval to represent that cancer never sleeps. There was a point of time, that we were so close to evacuating due to the bad weather, but we strived on. 

Not to mention, there was not a moment that we felt bored, there was always something to do. I'm definitely going to participate in Relay For Life Curtin next year, and it is not because i am in the committee, but i was genuinely having the best time of my life. This goes to show that after every downfall, there will be a sliver-lining. Cancers survivors had to suffer a tragic disease, however, they didn't give up and what Relay For Life Curtin did was, to show them that no matter how hard it is, we would all come together to make their days better.

To my friends who are reading this, try participating the event next year, or even better, try out to be in the committee! You will not regret it!
