Today was an exciting day. The chief executive of the company visited Perth for an interactive session with around 1000 staff members. I arrived early as a part of the communications team, just as an extra measure if something did not go to plan.
From here we monitored the other employees enter the theatre and made sure everything was running smoothly before the talk began. The CEO was amazing. He came across as funny and personable with a wealth of knowledge about the industry and his company. He spoke about key focuses the company has and shared some blunt but very important issues regarding safety and company costs.
The event went for three hours and included question time, allowing various staff members to come forward and ask questions. It was amazing to hear people from a variety of departments asking some pretty hard hitting questions and the CEO having the ability to answer them with. He left a lasting impression and I believe his position in the company was well deserved. I was very impressed; this is exactly how I would imagine a CEO to be like.
The session was a great success with everyone I talked to blown away by just how good the whole thing was. Interactions like this that promote company morale and build reputation just prove what a good company it is to be a part of.
