For my first time since I started my internship to attend business meeting, I was over the moon because I have long wanted to see how it is being done. To attend that meeting was for me to just do the observation. To tell you the truth that meeting was so so professional. What I have learned during that meeting is that when saying out an idea you have to stand up for it, share it with others and you have to say it out with passion whether for better or worse. One more thing that I have noticed is that these is where the thinking skill have to be put to practice because people will fire you with question concerning your idea and like I said you better support it in order for it to be recognized. Again, people time management is not something to play with , time is money that what I can say.
Thank you!

YOU WILL NEVER FALL FOREVER!
Hello everyone
I guess you still remember the Dj Axwell event so right now what I can tell you is that the event was well covered in different magazines and newspapers and also the attendance of media people was quite good. And these sound good because last time we did the E Major Opening Day and the media people were not available.
As I have told you that my organization is for events these Saturday there was an event called Mas Touchdown @ Skypark Terminal SAAS Airport, which was mainly for charity. Even though I was unable to attend it due to health problem but the feedback i got from my fellows it is so amazing and the GO Team, each of them were given certificates which is so good, Wish I was there to get my own certificate for future reference anyway there is still next time.
Therefore I have learned that you cannot be unsuccessful all the time but there is somewhere you will be successful.
Best regards

Please time !
Time management is not all about getting lots of stuff done, you have to make sure that you work in something that truly need to be done. Most of us we have a tendency to do our assignments at last minutes but for now i can say to you that i have learned a lesson. What I can tell you is that do your work according to the dead lines. Dont ever say there is time and then you relax. I have learned that doing work at the last minute by the time you finish it,you will be stressed. If you don't manage your time effectively you are at risk of doing just to finish but not for good satisfaction. Therefore i have learned that as a person you have to manage your time properly because if you dont you bring shame to yourself as if you are not organised.
I urge you to improve your time management as it will help you to obtain better results.

DAY TO DAY IN PR
Good people is me again
I have noticed that in PR is all about communication, writing and editing. For all the days of internship there has never been a day that I knocked of without writing a press release or mail or any write ups.
My company mostly deals with events and right now we have lots and lots of events that we have to tackle. As I talk we are working on the Dj Axwell from Sweden he will be performing here in KL on the 8 January 2010. So far what I did is that I have been sending the announcements to different media so as our event can have enough exposure. After sending I do follow ups to confirm whether the announcements has been delivered. Now my daily work is to check in magazines and newspaper to see whether the message has been posted this is to monitor the coverage of our event. Again we try by all means that the event can have more exposure as we also paste in different websites.
I have to prepare a spreadsheet to see how the event has been covered. So far it is still hanging because there is something that is being introduced to me which is my first time to hear about it. This thing is called ROI I heard that there are some calculations to be made. What really surprised me is that I heard that there is some where that I am going to multiple by 3 because PR people believe that of all people reading the newspaper they assume that 3 might have seen the publication.
I cant wait to be taught this thing ..........

COMMUNICATION MASTER OF ALL
Hey guys!
Communication is key to success when people work together, without communication there is no how we can achieve lot of things. I have learned that when working together you have to always update your partner, this will be away to avoid unexpected things from happening. Communication is not only for me and my work mates it involves everyone connected to your organisation. I have learned that in everything the secret of successful task/ project is communication. I have learned that proper communication ensures that your message is clear, enriched with meaningful information and thus making all those who are interested to act favourably to help you to reach the goal. During this journey of internship I have learned that when communicating with the client you have to be always clear, fluent and make sure that he/she understands what you are saying.
If people communicate there are slim chances of misunderstanding and to avoid chances where the task is left unfinished. I guess there are many projects that have failed to be completed
because of no effective communication. There is a saying which says you cant go wrong if you make a lot of effort to communicate the best you can because if you communicate people will be able to help you and get solutions where you are going wrong. One thing that I have also recognised about communication is that it can also boost your confidence. This will be good as a PR person you are supposed to have that confidence because if you are not confident it will be hard for you to be successful in what ever you are doing.
Again two way communication is very crucial in everything. Response and acknowledgment is a way to show that the message has been delivered.
Cheers!

CHALLENGES AND EXPERIENCE
Hello everyone hope you are all doing great and doing well with your internship.
I started my internship on the 23 November at GO International Group- NOVA PR. It is almost three weeks working in this company and the journey has been not that smooth as I faced some challenges beside that I have also gained a lot of experience.
For every change there is a challenge, so you can imagine from my learning theory at school to making it practical at work during my internship days. Most of all I longed for holiday rest as I learned that its not easy going to work daily. I got to realise that dealing with the media is not easy as I thought. For example sometimes when planning events the media lists lack information and sometime not helpful. As a foreign student it is not easy as sometime if you call the media they dont understand you and becomes tough for you to get the information that you want. Another thing is that press releases structures differs from that one that I have learned at school. I was not aware that a press release can include facts as much as possible . Without being aware of this my supervisor kept on saying that I have to redo the press release something that was giving me a headache but lastly I was able to write the way she wanted. I was given this task to write media advisory too bad I didnt know what to do, thank you technology! I quickly rushed to the internet and googled it to find what is it all about. I did my attempt and I realised that the way I did it was not suppose to be like that and I was given a sample to look at.
Thats are the challenges that I faced now to my experience. To me, all in all PR is all about time managament and punctuality. I got to learn and see and experience that the PR people are extremely busy people. I also observed that one has to be active and energetic so as not to be left behind. Furthermore you have to be prepared all the time for anything as these can be disappointing or unexpected things, like when the media dont pitch. For example we did these event called E Major Discovery opening day we did all the invitation to different media and do follow up with them and some of them confirmed that they will be availble. Guess what not even single one of them attended the opening, therefore this are the things that you have to be always be aware of them so that if they take place you can cope with.
Comparing to what we do in class sit and listen to the lecture in the company I had actually learned that you have to contribute much. Moreover I learned that feedback is very important in the PR industry, that is to say follow up a lot. Lastly I got to see that formality goes hand in hand with PR as I had already learnt in school. All in all I can say definately I learned a lot but the first few days were not that easy as I panicked and got nervous time to time.
Be bleesed!
