Animal Aid Abroad High Tea coming soon! :)

I would like to say thanks to Janet Thomas for letting me work with Animal Aid Abroad. Animal Aid Abroad is a non-profit organization which works to improve the conditions and treatment of working animals around the world. It was started in 2007; Perth, Australia by Janet Thomas and their first project was in Alexandria, Egypt. They have started to expand their operation in some countries such as India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Israel, Tanzania, Thailand and recently in Indonesia.  AAA projects are aimed to help working animals including horses, mules, donkeys, camels, elephants, fogs and bullocks. These animals suffer because of overwork and are also underfed, mistreated, and appallingly undervalued.  For more information about AAA I would like to invite everyone to visit

My job this time is to help out with the event, High Tea in 18 of August 2013. The event will be held in Joondalup Resort from 1pm until 5pm.  It is a perfect opportunity to get together with some friends while enjoying the best view of Joondalup Resorts poolside. It is not only that, you have a chance to help abused and neglected working animals at the same time.

Public relation plays an important role for gaining public attention/awareness and it will definitely help non-profit organization as PR offers low budget. My first task was to promote the event with very limited budget. I preferred to put most of information online because it would not cost so much. Facebook, twitter and some of advertising websites are good sources to promote the event. I also put some flyers at some places and tried to send some media releases. The good news all the tickets are sold out. Thanks everyone for your support!

This is one of the best opportunities for me to learn about how the event will run. AAA have arranged some events throughout the year to raise some funds and to increase awareness of people about what they do and why. This time AAA high tea will be about celebrating AAA works so far and to get more people's awareness about the projects that have been running.

There are many people who are not well informed about the projects and about those animals’ conditions.  There are animals who are still suffering a lot and they need a lot of support.  Therefore, the high tea will give opportunity for people to show their support and to change those lives from unfortunate into fortunate. :) It is a positive course for sure.

I love working with AAA because it is my passion. I love animals and one of my dreams is to help those unfortunate animals. I was born in a country where animals are still unfortunate.  This is why I want to help them and through AAA I have a chance to make a big difference.  Of course, if you love job, you will do your best and so do I.  :)

Working with a non-profit has a lot of benefits especially when you start your career. I have met a lot of amazing people and got to know them on how they manage the organization. Most of them are full time workers but they have put so much effort in the organization.  It is not easy to run an organization when you do not have much time. But, AAA has been doing well so far because they have a lot of amazing people to work with.

Well, working with AAA has not only given me opportunity to learn about organization but also a chance to change the world! By working with AAA, you will get the best feeling ever because you will save so many lives.  Those animals deserve better life and we definitely could help them.  :) I am glad to get involve with this organization.

Because we are going to run an auction for the high tea, my other task is to find some stuffs that can be used for the auction.  I have met awesome people who were happy to donate for this cause.  Probably if you have something that you do not use anymore, you can donate it to us too. Why not! It is an amazing opportunity for you to change the world.  It means so much for us and those animals! :) You can contact me through email: debbiesatyawaty.1991@gmail.com or call me on 0430166607.  Thank you. . Looking forward for next month’s event!

Note to Self: Keep Breathing! It's only your first day!

Hello everyone! Let me introduce myself before I go telling you my little story about my first day at my internship. My name is Cassandra Lu, but you can all call me Cassie. I’m currently in my final semester (at the start I couldn't wait for this day to come, but now I'm slightly sad to see my university life come to an end) at Curtin University. I'm currently undertaking a double major in Public Relations/ Tourism and Event Management.
I was privileged enough to have the opportunity to complete my internship at Linc Integrated. Linc is an advertising and marketing consultancy in Perth, Linc also provide other services including public relations, web designing and other various service in relations to marketing and advertising. The company consists of around 15 to 20 employees but the PR team itself consists of Rebecca Johnston (Strategic Advisor), Lisa Barratt (Senior PR consultant) and Conrad Natoli (Public Relations Consultant).

Before I go further on, I should mention my brief history with Linc Integrated. This wasn't the first time I worked with Linc and my supervisors Rebecca and Lisa. I had first met these two lovely ladies as a student volunteer for their work on Bankwest Launch event at Raine Square in October.
Although, I had met everyone on the team, I still had the jitters. As I walked to my spot, I greeted the team and was welcomed with nothing but big grins and “Hey Cassie”. After having a quick chat, I sat at my desk and began my duties as a intern.
After 30 minutes! I finally got my computer and email ready and began my first task assigned for the day; Media monitoring! Easy peasy. Media monitoring at Linc was pretty straightforward. We would each be allocated a publication, which we would then read and take note of what was technically making “headlines” and would be relevant enough to apply to our company and clients. The document only had to be 7-10 bullet points and a sentence describing the news would be enough.
Now I was up to my second task for the day. Bec briefly explained various projects that were currently active at Linc, one of which was a online/magazine portal aimed for the baby boomer market. The portal would offer content relevant to the target market and provide accessibility by allocating it all on the site. What I had to do was find blogs that “over 50’s” would most likely resort to when wanting to source their information. Topics could include current affairs, sport, finance, travel, health & wellbeing, lifestyle, events and other related topics. Putting myself in the mindset of a baby boomer, I began researching what I personally would type into the web to source my information.
After my lunch break I was given a task as a break from all the research I had done. One thing I know for sure that i've learned from this task, was the copious amount of research needed for a client/project was essential but given the limited amount of time it can be quite daunting and difficult to meet deadlines. The amount of research needed for a project can take up so much time without knowing.
Once all that was out the way, I got to the true nitty gritty areas of Public Relations! The good ole media release writing. Given time to read the client brief and various materials related to my media release, my mind was racing with a million questions such as “OH NO WHAT DO I WRITE!” Once I had finished reading the brief and understanding what my client did and what my media release required, Bec came over noticing my nerves she smiled and told me “ Don’t stress Cassie, just think of it as writing down ideas on a paper and it will eventually come naturally”.
*15 minutes later* I was literally sitting there at my desk with nothing but mind blanks! I couldn’t even come up with a title. Not wanting to look like a fool with a blank document on her first day, I began forming random titles and random paragraphs and piling information and formatting the media release with skills I had learnt in my past PR techniques classes. Quite glad I still remembered some of those skills such as proper punctuation when quoting, the triangle of information and other important media release writing techniques especially after the long uni break we all just had.
Once I began putting my ideas and thoughts onto the pages, I had noticed I had begun to form my media release and all I had to do was put the correct formatting and added quotes as requested. Once I checked and re-read my media release I handed it back to Bec and was provided with feedback on areas of approval.
First mistake I had made, which I called a rookie mistake was keeping media release to sentences not paragraphs! After reading through my mistakes and correcting my media release I sent my final media release and Bec sent me the release she had prepared earlier. Reading the two and comparisons, I learnt a thing or two and what areas I had needed to improve on for future media release writings.
Without even knowing, that was the end of my day. Not even realising till I was told to go home by my supervisors! Who would have known it was already 5:30pm and my first day at my internship was over. Saying bye to everyone and walking out of those doors, I realised I was in fact “home” and I had chosen the right degree despite the years of doubting. I was already looking forward to my second day!

Lesson 1: get over the nerves!

Hey everyone, my names Kiranjeet and I'm in my final semester of degree. Just to keep you in the loop.. I started my internship at the Shire of Kalamunda back in March and so far it has been awesome! I started my blog but didn’t actually post it - had a few technical difficulties but here it finally is!

When I was told that I got the internship, I was super excited to get some real life experience yet I was scared at the same time.

What if my work wasn’t good enough?  What if they don’t like me? What if I’m too slow and they kick me out? What if the lady turns around and says my work is rubbish? All these questions kept running through my head making me feel nervous for my first day.

Anyway a week later, I rock up to the office and ask for the HR Manager Davina, who also happens to be a friend of a friend – sounds typical, I know. A couple minutes go by.. and I’m still waiting awkwardly at the front counter with the ladies looking at me confused because they don’t know who I am.

Lucky for me, Davina finally came to my rescue. We headed down to her office where I met the public relations coordinator Nicole O’Niell. After our introduction, I was given a tour of the office. Everyone that I had been introduced to was really friendly and kind which didn’t make me feel awkward – so that’s a plus.

I had my swipe card organised, email account set up and log ins all verified – I started to really feel like a proper employee at the shire.

My manager told me “this isn’t going be like a stereotypical internship where I make you do mail outs day in day out and boring stuff like updating mailing lists… We like to keep everyone busy at the shire so there will be a lot of work to do so you and hopefully won’t get bored.”

After hearing my manager say that, my heart started racing and I was excited - finally I get to do some proper work! So my manager and my system worked like this… She sends me a brief description or even just the flyer of an event, I write a draft media release, email it back to her for editing, she sends me back the final copy giving me feedback along with it and bang - job complete.

After sending her my first media release, I was scared to hear her feedback until I opened my email and read her response “great work! Really well written Kiran”. I will admit I was a bit stunned so just to clarify I turned around and asked her “are you sure its okay?” and she laughed and replied “yes its great, just a few tweaks but otherwise it looks good, don’t stress!”. After that, the next few media releases kept rolling out and before I knew it, it was 3pm - time to go home!

Overall, I found my first day to be initially nerve racking and overwhelming but once I got into the office, met everyone and began to work… things felt great!

Lesson learnt from day one: don’t sweat the small stuff. Meeting new people, entering new surroundings and building connections is half of what public relations is all about.. Get used to it!

The End of Something Special

Twelve weeks on from the beginning of my final semester at University, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I finished my final week of work experience one week ago, and have been busily putting the final touches on my final report since. This has given me the chance to reflect on my time at Metric Promotions and Pilerats, and what I have learnt over this period.

As a unit, PR301 gives such a great opportunity to learn in a real-life setting, and to grow confidence in your skills as a practitioner. Throughout my time at Metric & Pilerats, I feel that I have had a true life lesson, not only in public relations but in general life and business skills. I have been taught a wide range of skills relating to running an organisation in events and promotion, and even within journalism working up to the launch of a magazine.

Throughout the experience there have definitely been a number of hurdles to overcome, but these have been translated into valuable learning experiences. From the general time management of being a full-time student undertaking work experience and working at my part- time job, to being asked to write in a completely different way to that taught to me at university. It is clear to me now that there is no 'set rules' for public relations. Every student I have spoken to, or who has commented on my blog has noted that the difference between what we are taught, and real life practice is extraordinary. Every organisation is involved in different aspects of public relations, and has different procedures.

One of the disappointments of my placement was the set-back of the launch of Pilerats magazine. External factors out of the organisations control, have resulted in a slight delay of the launch of the magazine which is a shame. I feel as though I could have been involved in a really great project had I been able to assist in the launch. That being said, I have made some fantastic friends (and contacts) within Pilerats, who have offered to keep me involved if I am interested which is an amazing opportunity. Even though I am not planning to go straight into work when I finish university this gives me a chance to polish up my skills on the side if I wish, and is still great experience for my resume.

I look forward to what the future has to offer me in terms of a career in public relations, and I believe that this work experience has given me this chance to solidify my skills as an up-coming practitioner. Finally, I want to thank everyone involved with Metric Promotions and Pilerats Magazine, who welcomed me and taught me. I hope I get the chance to help them out and wish them all the very best in the future.

Event management....not just glitz and glam!!

welcome to my first blog everyone!!

I have started my internship at The Breakwater, located at Hillary's boat harbour. It is a dynamic venue that has two bars, a fine dining restaurant and also a well renowned private function room. over my time here i will be working mainly with the events co-ordinater to help organise and plan mostly wedding and corporate dinners.

I have been working closely with the events manager Christie Reid and am learning quickly, the pace is fast and being organised is essential. Juggling and planning many events at one time means that you have to have a clear method of keeping on top of things and making sure tasks get done accordingly.

On my first morning i had my internship, Christie already had 10-15 un-answered emails that had to be addressed before moving on to other tasks. The first thing i have noticed is Christie professional approach to answering every emails. even if she cant help the client she thanks them and keeps the professional relationship positive for any future events.

So far i feel like i am learning many practical skills and especially the importance of being professional, i am looking forward to learning more and hopefully attending and running an event in future weeks.

Fashion Icon High Tea

Hi again PR students!

I have been at my placement for almost three months now, I get along with the other women well and have lots of fun when I’m working there, so it was very exciting to hear that the company wants me to work for them when my placement finishes!

At the moment we are still working on the Fashion Icon High Tea that Networking WA and Perth Fashion Festival are partnering together for, which is happening this September, I have been given the job to find companies that are interested in placing products in the gift bags that will be given to all attendees of the event and also finding prizes for the raffles and door prizes, in which all proceeds go the the Starlight Children's Foundation. So far I have contacted a number of companies that were more than happy to offer some sort of product, voucher or gift.

For our gift bags we have products from companies such as Nudie drinks, Muzz Buzz, Lorna Jane, Elmstock tea, Simply Fabulous to name a few and more to be confirmed soon! And for raffle prizes we have vouchers for Seashells Resort and Marie Claire Shoes and a huge gift basket from Jurlique.

We have also been working on sponsor opportunities for the High Tea, which gives only five organisations some great sponsorship benefits, in regards to promotional activities on the day and prior the event.

Networking WA is very happy how the event is going so far, though still so much to do it’s lucky we still have a month till the event so we have plenty of time to get organised. I am really looking forward to the event, as fashion Icons such as Liz Davenport, Maurice Meade, Liz Carberry will be attending the event, and Lisa Fernandez will be hosting the afternoon.

The event is being held at Pan Pacific on Friday the 23rd September from 3.30-5.30 its sure to be lots of fun, with entertainment from Sara MacLiver, take a look at www.networkingwa.com.au and if any one is interested in coming to the event get a group of friends together and get your tickets before they go!

Take care

The Secret Life of an Intern: Final Episode

My last day interning for Make-A-Wish Australia was the company's national fundraising and awareness day. “Wish Day” was held on the 17th of April and branches were participating in a number of ways, from shaking cans in shopping centres to attending fundraising events.

I was holding a fundraising event at a local pub, themed “I wish I was a...”, which involved patrons dressing up in attire depicting, as a child, what they had wished to be when they grew up. The night involved a raffle and prize for the best dressed and successfully managed to raise the charity over $1400.

From a PR point of view however, much more could have been done to raise awareness of the day. A primary competitor has since had their awareness day where they received major media coverage and I will be recommending in my final report for the state office to focus on main media coverage through media releases and feature stories to increase involvement and reach the objectives of the day.

From the event, I did learn to take LOTS of photos! If the media can’t afford to send a representative, you can do a write-up and send photos yourself. If you have an established relationship with representatives, it will help alot!

Many charities hold an annual awareness day, it seems that not a week goes past without one! What endeavours would you suggest a charity like Make-A-Wish do to achieve cut through? What media would you approach and how would you create a newsworthy angle?

Thanks for participating over the semester and much luck to everyone in their final reports!!!

My Internship Had Finished :(

Hi everyone,

I'm Puspita from LUCT.. this is my 4th blog.. well, i completed my 2 months internship on friday (30th of January '09). Before that, they asked me to do the speech for AsiaPR on the last day i'm doing my internship. So, on friday i did it in front of all of AsiaPR members. I'm really2 thankful for the wonderful chance that they gave to me. I learnt alot of stuffs about Public Relations and i had so much fun.

They also prepared some meals for lunch after i did the speech then we had lunch together for my farewell. I was so touched because i dont feel like i am just a trainee there but i feel like i'm part of them. They really2 treat their trainees nicely. And then after that i sit with the director in person and he told me to visit AsiaPR anytime i want and if anything just contact them. I feel so glad because i wasnt only learning about the work but also i learnt about the value of team mate and friendship.

Have a good day everyone and Cheers,

The Last Week of Internship

Greetings Everyone,

I'm Puspita from LUCT campus. I hope you all are doing fine with your work.. =) A'ways, this is my last week doing my internship. Even its tiring but alot of good things that I have been through since first time I came here which is making me so sad to leave.

All of my colleagues have been so nice to me and also i got use to with my works. I dont even feel as tiring as the 1st few weeks that i am here even lately the works are alot more..can u imagine? so thatz why i feel so sad that i have to leave it all...

Last Friday (23rd of Jan '09), i attended a Press Conference of World Halal Forum 2009 in Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur. It is organized by one of this company's clients called KasehDia. It is to achieve the global halal integrity. The event itself will be held on May 2009.

Two days before the Press Conference i did the Media Invitation, then after my mentor agree with it, i sent it (by fax) to about 74 medias in Malaysia including newspapers, magazines, electronics(TV & radio) and wire services. And some of the medias have changed their fax number, so i have to search for it on the internet or call the company itself to update. I know its an easy job but its really2 alot which made me so tired and came back home so late after that.

In the following day, i did the press calls to confirm the attendance. But this time, 3 other trainees helped me to did it. After we'd done, we prepared the Press Kit for the following day. On friday, The Press Conference day, i reached Mandarin Oriental on time at 9am. I and another trainee prepared the Press Kit and the gift from the sponsors on the front table. Then i took care of the Media Registrations Book. I had to make sure that all the media already registered. Then when the Press Conference started, i came inside and listen to it as well. Then it ended up with Q & A session which i had to listen carefully and typed it all. Its all finished at 2pm and i and my colleagues went back to the office. I typed all the Q & A that i wrote before and sent it to my mentor.

On that day as well, i did the News Release translation from English to Malaysia. It took abit long because i needed to check every single word in the dictionary to avoid the "So Indonesia News Release" hehehe.. (for those who read my 2nd blog must be know what i mean ;D ) well, i guess that was the last event that i attended before i leave coz this week we have no events etc. I am gonna miss all of this...

For all of u who are doin the last week as well or the last few weeks, all the best for all of you..show your best before u leave the company and give them a good impression. For all of u who had finished the internship, congratulation for doing such a great work for this past two months ;)

Cheers,
Puspita Wardani

First Post since I joined FHKL

Hello everybody,

My name is Anna from LUCT Cyberjaya,
I began my internship at Fleishman- Hillard since 1st of December 2008. However I have not been able to write an entry till today for many reasons, the first is that we officially finish work at 6 but no one has ever left at 6 since I joined, and 7 has been the earliest that I have ever left, the average time that I usually leave the office is at 8. It takes me over an hour to get home and I assure you, when I get home the computer screen is the last thing that I want to look at. So you can imagine how the rest goes, go to sleep before 12 and get 6 hours of sleep wake up at 6 something and get ready and be at work by 8:30am. From the first day I started work I knew writing these entries would be a challenge as I spend most of my time working at the office or resting on weekends to make up for the week. So I decided to write everything that I do in a notebook I take with me everywhere. I would actually like to continue this habit when I start work as it helps you with getting organized and knowing what you have done in a day and what you need to do the next day.

Even though it sounded like I complain about the work hours, I’m actually very proud to be working in the best PR agency in Malaysia and one of the top three in the world. If you need source for that please check out this link

http://www.theedgedaily.com/cms/content.jsp?id=com.tms.cms.article.Article_86191491-cb73c03a-53897400-8a49a429

During the first week I was assigned to the Tech and Digital team, at FHKL teams are divided in the office according to clients, for instance a mobile company (Motorola) falls under the tech team, while a medical company would fall under the health care team. Being on the tech team I was concerned that it is important for me to be tech savvy. I overcame my fear of being in the tech team by getting to know our clients better, what they demanded and what had FH delivered to them. Doing this gave me insight into the standard of the work that was expected from me.

The client we had to work with included; MAS (Malaysia Airlines), Motorola (Corp, H&M and EMB), Avaya and SAS. I was also assigned to the CSR team for Nike which was more of a one man show as it is still on a research and evaluation based platform.

Working on the Nike report gave me deep satisfaction, I was proud that they had actually trusted me to take on the responsibilities for this client. The work that I do for Nike involves in-depth research and monitoring of the local economic, environmental, manufacturing, social and political scene. Every two weeks I have to compile an intelligence report, in this report I have to place news clippings, summaries of what they are about and give suggestions and advice to Nike on opportunities that they could look into for future PR activities. Even though every time I do the report I’m in the office till late (very late) I actually enjoy it, especially since I got feedback from my boss that they found the reports very comprehensive and were pleased with the standard. In the near future I might be able to put in a sample of a small part of the report if my boss doesn't mind.

Ciao :)

My 2nd Last Week :(

Hi everyone,

Im Puspita from LUCT campus. This is my 2nd blog.. Well, It is my 8th week doing my internship in AsiaPR and i'll be finishing it on 30th of Jan. I have done and learnt alot of stuffs.. Actually last December was nothing much to do bcoz mostly the client's companies closed their account in the end of the year. So what i did in December were doing the Research about the clients, Media Clippings, Manufactured News Releases (including making the news release, put the photo captions and put it all in the envelopes to be sent to the media), PR Value and Product Loans for one of the clients (VOIR galleries).
The biggest task was... the two mentors asked me (and another 2 trainees) to create our own PR company. And the mentors pretend to be the owner of 3 brands (Mornflakes, Pullman Hotel and SKODA). So, what we supposed to do were making a proposal for 6 months for the client including creating the activities to promote the brands, Situation Analysis, Objectives, Target group, Key message, and also PR Calendar. They gave me 2 weeks to finished it and then i had to presented it in front of all AsiaPR teams. I was so scared and nervous at the beginning because this time i had to present in front of the proffesionals, its not in front of my classmates as usual.. but thank God all went smooth..they just wanted to know my understanding so far.. they also helped me how to improve it.
In January, in the first week, we had "present exchange". This is AsiaPR ritual every year. (before this, they made the roll small papers and got the names inside. Any1 had to tk one and had to buy a gift for that name and juz need to put the name that the present is dedicated to. no need to write the sender). After we exchange the present..it continued with "lunch together" in the office.. One thing that i like from this company is all the members are close to each other and the warm feeling to each other is there :)
Day by day, the tasks are even more..it is getting more busy.. alot of Manufacturer News Releases must be done, translation News Release must be done. The funny thing is, i had to translate the English News Release to Bahasa Malaysia New Release, at first, i was abit confused because i am Indonesian and even the language is similar but actually there are alot of different words. So in the first News Release translation that i made, my colleague (the permanent staff) complained to me, she said the News Release was so Indonesia.. LOL.. eventho i already using the "English-Malaysian Dictionary".. then i redo it and thank God she said its correct :) yay! and the next news releases i could made it better :)
There were a Press Conference that i attended as well, it was the Olympus Press Conference to Introduce their new products. The preparations that i made were making the media calls and prepared for the press kit. Another event that i attended was the Talkshow in Astro(broadcast network in Malaysia) studio, in Bukit Jalil, Malaysia. Regarding to the talkshow from AsiaPR's client, Skali, about IT and the effect of technology in human's living. I was there to observe about how was the talkshow going.
I have learnt alot of things and i can feel that i am becoming better comparing to the 1st time i came here. In terms of the tasks itself and also the relationship that i've been building between the colleagues. I also cant believe its just 2 weeks left to finish this intership program.. I always try my best in doing my tasks even sumtimes miss-communication exist..that's why it is really important for us to improve our commucation skills to minimize the miss-communication..
Cheers,
Puspita Wardani

First Week At Weber

Hello ppl, i'm actually doing my PR internship in Weber Shandwick Malaysia and yeah kept saying i would post since last week but i've been caught up with the heavy workload from Weber.

for my first few days at Weber, it was quite interesting and yeah it is well known that PR is a women's world so yeah got this illustration on stepping in the office last monday.

anyway, from day 1 i got to experience the real PR world where i was asked to dratf a business proposal for a pitch for our health client, and i was asked to draft few media invitation letters and thank you note and i got to cover a big Press conference and Media Launch product for one of our consumer client.

my highlight would be, it was quite interesting how i could relate all the work i was given to what ive learnt from the previous PR modules when doing Business Proposals which dealt with Strategic PR as well as Campaign strategy and timeline, and also how Media relation operate.

My internship so far, i'm very satisfied, i love the job, and the more work am given and the better its is.

Internship is all about getting the best out of it so am trying to squeeze every drop i can.

i'll be back for more, i got some CSR campaign to work on for this week's event!

Take care people and luck for your internships as well.

Regards,

Laurent Decosse

My Working Experiences for This Past One Week

Hi everyone, i am Puspita wardani from LUCT campus. I started my internship on 1st of December 2008 in a local PR consultants company called AsiaPR consultants. It has been one week since 1st time i worked here. So far i enjoy working here. People in here are nice, helpful and friendly to me and it is making me even more enjoying this internship program.

They expect me to ask anything that i do not understand. I have the mentor to guide me to do the stuffs that i do not understand about. At the first day, they asked me (and the other two trainees) to joined their meeting about their client. They asked me to participate even abit in every single thing they do and they are so open because they said they trust the trainees.

My office hour is from 9am to 6pm. And so far it is always on time. Besides that, i did the research about clients and anything related to them, shared the idea about the road show and event plans and i did the drafts for the news releases.

I am so grateful that i have such opportunities to work in the real company before i graduate. Because as many people said, "the real work is not the same as what u learn in the theories". Big yes for it! I really hope that this opportunity will be useful for my future carreer.

Regards,

Puspita

DAY 3

First i wish to warmly greet you all mates it has been not been easy lately, adjusting from class room, lecture hall and seminar hall to a corner that belongs to you and nobody else called an office.

Ladies and Gents my first day was a normall orientation nothing much to explore about.
Day two work began smoothly i started with media monitoring for an insurance company called
Prudential. interestingly the media monitoring in the industry a pr personnel do not just monitore
anything that has everything to do with pr but only a specific company that is my client i will be looking for any information that depict direct mention of my client, the industry which my client is involved in as well as the competitors of my client. this is not s simple task as some people might think because the report is supposed to be submitted every months but the client can and will demand it when and if needed. so one has to be prepared all the time to submit.

Interesting i am working on an article for one of our clients which will be featured on there internal newsletter. its for Transmile Malaysia, this is an aviation co. dealing with cargo transportation. I am still working on the angle of the article. will be back with more detail people.
this all the time i had. this job is demanding.
