Photo-shoot 'fun'!

Hi everyone!

I thought I'd share with you one of many fun tasks that I carried out while interning at Magenta. I've always had this idea of photo-shoots and being behind the scenes, I've imagined that it is a whole lot of fun directing the model, trying to get the right pictures for an advertising piece.

So when I was asked to source props for a photo-shoot I was relatively excited to start searching for these props that they required for the photo-shoot. From my knowledge, the Senior consultants decide on a particular look and style for the photo-shoot, and have a certain idea in their minds as to how they want to the photo-shoot to look like, what they want the model to be wearing and what props will be in the shoot.

It was my responsibility to find clothing items that resembled a couple of outfits chosen by the senior consultants from magazines/celebrities as well as a particular green arm chair for the model to sit on.

Looking at the photos that they presented to me with what they wanted the outfit to look like and what type of chair they wanted, I thought it was an easy task and I was keen to get started on it the next day.

However I was wrong, I found this to be quite challenging, I thought to myself that just because they have envisioned a particular outfit and a particular chair, it doesn't mean that the shops would be selling these particular item.

I tried my best, looking up clothing websites and catalogues and finally found an outfit that best resembled the outfit in the photo. But.... the chair was the most difficult, I called every single chair place in Perth, sent out emails, looked through books, and nothing!!!

In the end they found a chair, but it was nothing like the chair that they had originally showed me in the photo, which was a sigh of relief that they realised that the stores didn't have what they were looking for and they acknowledge that I did my best to look for it.

I also had the opportunity to go down to the photo-shoot to see how everything works, and it was great. I got to see how the digital design manager works with the senior consultant and the photographer to get some good shots that their client would be impressed with.

Thats it for now!
