On my third entry today, I will be talking about my first market visit at an event! One of our clients worked together with Magnum, who is currently celebrating their 25 years anniversary. It was held at One-Altitude, a club in Singapore.
What was our client involved in then?
The interactive media digital boards - Citadels! It has touch sensors and built-in photography functions, people could tap on the screen and pose for a photo. Three of these Citadels were placed at different places of the event venue!
For every picture taken, the people would get to enjoy a free magnum!
The purpose of this market visit was to observe the public's response, and to better understand what our client was involved in. So during the event, what we had to do was just stand around or walk around, making observations and jotting down notes or taking photos/videos. This would help us in drafting out press documents as well.
As we went there an hour earlier before the event started, it wasn't that crowded, but we could still see many people interacting with the digital board, and posing happily for a photo. I think with the current craze for taking pictures and selfies, it got more people excited to take pictures! Moreover, they would get a free Magnum ice cream, so why not?
As One-Altitude was located 63 levels high, one of the perks was being able to enjoy the stunning view of Singapore from at night!
All in all, it was quite an experience to be involved in a market visit. It has definitely added value to my internship, as I could get exposed to different types of industry and events. For a start, I do feel quite awkward whenever I meet with clients, because I'm unsure what am I suppose to say (and also afraid that I may offend them if I were to say something wrong).
But I hope this would get better as I get used to it eventually! :)
That is all I have to today, I can't believe it's almost the end of my internship and time is passing by so quickly! Do look out for my last entry, coming up in a week's time!
