SaReGaMaPa Grand finale...

Last night was fun, great, and everything else. Let me narrate the events that took place yesterday. It was Zee Tamizh's hit reality show SAREGAMAPA (SRGMP): Sangeetha Magayudham, Adhiradi Paatusatham's Grand Finale. So we are filming 'Four' episodes back to back on the same day in full swing. I cannot fully explain how things go in motion in a shooting spot. I tell you, it was mind boggling. The amount of creativity involved and how nothing can go wrong, I began to feel good about how easy it is for us to make minor productions for FTV. The experience was Overwhelming.

Let me brief you on SRGMP before I go further. SRGMP is a hit reality show for the whole ZEE Network. We have the show already running successfully on our Channel in the North and have implemented the same in ZeeTamizh. It happens to be a huge crowd puller. It's basically a reality singing contest for the young. It has many rounds like Classical, Semi-Classical, Masala Round (Indian concept) etc... apart from other interesting sessions like 'the Grooming sessions' etc... The winner walks out with Rs. 5,00,000 (.5 million) prize money.

Yesterday was the shows' grand finale and we were filming four episodes back to back not stop. Apparently it went on all night until dawn. But I left the studio at around 10 because, I had to come to work the following morning. The show is very popular and has very famous singers, Ms. Usha Utup and Ms. Sowmya, as judges and Indian living legend Sir. Bala Murali Krishnan as its brand ambassador.

Our judges are really kind and great with kids. Ms. Usha Utup also sung Happy Birthday to one of our colleague who birthday was also on that same day.

Yesterday witnessed big names such as Ms. Sudha Ranganathan, Mr. James Vasanth, Ms. Susila etc as guest judges (and I can only imagine who else came after I left :( ). We also had walk-in guests such as actress Ms. Kushboo, the daughter of legendary musician Mr. Illayaraja and many more. Simply, by working in Zee Tamizh I happen to I won the lottery yesterday. Cool eh...

The show had a very tight schedule and limited time frame, we could not allow any slots for press. However, I managed to squeeze in DINAMALAR (a tamil daily) and got in contact with Deccan Chorncile (an English daily who wants to interview our anchor [Ms.Roshini] by the way).

So all in all, last evening was simply perfect for me. The talent oozing from the participants really intimidated me. It was simply fantastic.

to be cont'd...
