the end of internship =)

Hey all, it’s me again, Kyanne Tan from Limkokwing University. Finally, after the 9 weeks, I’ve done my internship at Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur. I would say I was having a good time during the training period and happy with what I’ve learned from the Hotel’s PR department.

Throughout the training period, the most important thing that I’ve learnt is learn to cultivate relationship with the people around us especially those who are working in your local media publication. As Public Relations is all about maintaining the good image, as a PR person, he or she should good in developing good relationship with people in order to get media placement for an organization easily.

Moreover, I’ve learned how to write an e-mail in a better way when I am to ask permission for doing something or requesting for help especially during working on media monitoring. Even though I did not have the chance to publish any press release but I’m happy on what I’ve learned about some other PR work such as producing artworks that to be approved by the director before proceed to the final printing, making sure the right words and attractive design to be used in the end of the day.

Apart from that, working in this industry, we must prevent from making any mistakes, hence, work on a task with confidence because PR person is responsible to spread out the word to the public. If one mistake is found, it would definitely affect the organization’s image, even the employees.

I feel glad that we are giving a chance to learn in the real working place before stepping into the real world. By that, we could actually prevent from doing the wrong one and do the best as we can.

Good luck to all interns and have great time during this training period!

Cheers,
Kyanne
