This is my last post, bit I will continue to comment on of your posts.
We all know that even when we are in class and we are asked to suggest strategies for a campaign
or event, we never forget suggesting celebrities. Celebrity endorsing products or just having a celebrity make an appearance at your event- Who has not done that? It is what makes the media give you coverage and it is also an effective way to get your target market to purchase or use your client's services.

That is one strategy we had to apply here at S&A PR . We have suggested the use of the current famous celebrities and socialites for product spokesmodels. We have also used celebrities to get the media to attend our events, or mention a celebrity in our press releases-when necessary . The media knows that celebrities sells.
Sometimes before i even get to say much to the editors, both on the phone invitations or at the events, they would ask, "So who is coming?".
Remember fellow colleagues - For the time being, celebrities strategy is sure to get you coverage and awareness. Do not hesitate-rolling your eyes, thinking that it is such a cliche`. Yes it is a cliche`-BUT IT WORKS. It really does.
Cheers friends. Good luck.

Hey Lena
It took me time to agree with your statement which says "We all know that even when we are in class and we are asked to suggest strategies for a campaign or event, we never forget suggesting celebrities," but then I looked back to all assignments that I have done together with the presentations I was like yes she is undeniably true on this one.
Inviting a celebrity to an event can make your company renowned through the coverage of the media thats a strategy that can put your company into the map, whether to an event or as a spokesperson it really works at the end.
Have a wonderful day lena
Hello Lena,
I'm completely agree with your statement. I'm one of the first during group assignments to suggest celebrities to my counterparts when comes the moment to choose the spokespersons. I think that way: when I see a star talking on behalf of a product or an event I do not forget it, so if I do not forget the product or the event in question most of people would react the same way. In my placement we work with lots of important names in the corporate world and when it comes to make students come to the different events we organize there is nothing more effective than a well know name from a big corporate to make them come. Celebrities can make a campaign but only if they have been chosen well as some star cannot profile some products or events because they are not suitable to reflect the image the company wants for their products. Good luck in your future campaigns and keep in mind " celebrities yes but the ones suitable".
Very true indeed!
The fact of the matter is that celebrities make good photo opportunities. It doesn't matter how mundane your event/press conference/launch might have been, as long as the photo op has a smiling celebrity in a semi-interesting pose the press is quite likely to print it!
When I make media calls for our events, one of the main questions asked will usually be "Which VIP is attending?"
Yes celebrities do bring in the media and I was writing from experience. I have had to tell editors that a certain actor/actress, musician or socialite is involved...that always got them to sound interested in what I was proposing to them.
And MelinMelbourne is very correct. Not any celebrity is selected. Their background, personality, reputation and what they are famously known for should be put into consideration. Lest something that does not live up to their representation comes up from their past or present actions.
To John, I know what you mean, they often ask "Which VIPs are going to be there?" Thankfully we always had some well known people including Datins and actresses show up at all our events since I'v been with S&A. And editors are happy to come or sent someone for the picture moments.
