Every day you learn something new

8th January 2010
Hey everyone,
With interns receiving tasks such as being a representative of their organisations, having to organise an event hands on and others relating to the objective of the module, I've came across more of a different objective.

One of the task still involved social media aspect with the producer of Gardner&Wife Theatre heading to China to interview the show's new artistic director, Brian Norris.

I had the opportunity to create several questions for the interview regarding the perception of the company from the media, the consistency of the performers including himself since he was one of the dancer in last year's show and the producer ended up taking 5 questions, which personally I felt honoured to make a valid contribution for.

There are two piece to this task; writing of the e-Newsletter and the other is a bit new since it didn't involve a particular PR skill, rather a design attribute was more necessary for this objective. I was assigned to fully design each of the performers e-Newsletters of the performers both real-life and dancer biography for their upcoming show.
It was a very daunting task considering I'm pretty much a photoshop newbie, very similar to how it was when we used Paint in our desktops for the very first time when we were younger, but no question it gave me a gist of how to create e-Newsletter layouts.
The first few drafts are shown on the left and right column.

I'm still a bit of a rookie at this and it took me quite some time to create it, but I hope you guys like it.
Until next time!
-Rui
