two weeks down in MPC

This marks the second entry in the blog... after a week filled with learning about the company and more especially about its clients i got down to the real PR job, my supervisor asked me to write a media release and media invitation for the event that was happening in KL, the event covered a lot of creative and innovative ways businesses can adapt to improve their organizations and meet up with the competitive international market. having done the media release in every semester i had for PR it was helpful so much because i had the knowledge of how to go on about writing the media release and of course i didn't forget the the "5 fives and 1 husband" namely, Who, What, When, Where, Why and How, even though i learn that the way we are taught at school is not the way the media prefers the media release to be written so it was a valuable lesson that i took, i didn't even know how to write the media invitation that i was asked to do, so what i did was i looked at the previous ones they have issued and took a look at the format and details needed for the media invitation and still on that i learn that the media prefers the media release, media invitation and the schedule for the eventful day to be sent at once so that day i learn a lot about what the media needs more so that i was assigned to call the media and ask whether they got the media release, my supervisor taught me how well to speak to the media so that i wouldn't sound desperate , insisting or nagging and how well do present and attract the media to the event or organization by the way i communicate with them.

everyday last week i have had something to do, my organization is doing a corporate video so that it can be well known Malaysia wide, my superior asked me to write a script for the corporate video because the television station wanted to have a direction when shooting the corporate video and well having the knowledge of film and television and of course of articles i put together a script that the superior loved, additionally the following two days i was asked to write an article about the upcoming awards that my organization will be giving to businesses that have showed innovation and creativity, different articles are written every week and published on the organizational magazine which helps expose MPC to the rest of the world.

so for me so far, i am enjoying my internship because i am learning a whole lot of things about PR, work itself, finding my self, thats my strength and weaknesses and how well to relate to others, dress code i am just getting used to the new me and i am in love with interning here.... hope u guys feel the same way
