hello to all the interns and i so hope that everythin is well and making yourself, university and your nations pround by being the best intern ever.... my company is best known on its outstanding ideas to improve businesses and have success in companies,, so once again we were invited to give a talk on measures of being succesful so i was assigned to go with my collegue, so i thought i was going with to help distribute pamphlets and books that enphasise more on the talk, only to find out that i was also to talk to a group of government employees with qualifications much better than mine it was nerve shaking but my boss encouraged me and told me he believed in me i should not worry thats why he chose the task for me because he sees potential in me so immediately i graped that in me and gave a memorable talk with my english clear and my points understood, i am glad that i attended the talk because i had a chance to answer questions from well educated people and answered to their satisfaction......As PR people its very vital that we answer questions with confidence and without any hesitation because with hesitation you will send a wrong message to the audience......
it is very important as a PR person to be able to handle the audience... it is also of vital importance to be clear and be well understood by your audience and also try to understand or study the audience you will be responsible to or in short the culture mainly the language because alot of important things are sometimes misinterpreted or misunderstood by the way we speak english and this is a lesson that i learnt when i was asked to be the master of ceremony (MC) during a talk that my higher boss had with the government delegates from Bangaladesh.... well i made a mistake of not asking of the little details concerning the culture here that i addressed my boss with his surname because i didnt know that in malaysia mostly people are addressed with their first names with ofcourse a MISS/MR/MRS coming first but i was very glad that the government delagets didn't notice that but later corrected my mistake....i wanted everything to go smoothly and be understood so i spoke clear and understandable english so that i will not find my audience whispering to each other asking what i just said and being confident also made the whole event wonderful...ofcourse as clothing is also vital in PR as we saw in the intern assesment form that they asked about attire, that day i made sure i was formal smart and that helps because the audience will be concentrated on what you are saying compared to when they will be distracted when you are wearing sexy clothes that reveal everythin.. so as PR people we should be smart and formal not wear sexy to make an impression but rather to make an impression with the good ideas that we posses.....
so guys i will like to have your opinion on matters of dress code, language and also other points that can help in making the event a memorable one not only to your bosses but to the targeted audience

As an international student,I have realised the role of PR in communication. As a Pr practioner,it is important to have an open mind and willingness to respect people from different cultures. The understanding of different cultures, ensures that organisations can be able to meet the needs of their target audience.Today,we live in a global world and it is important to understand different cultures for effective communication.
