HI GUYS......
The third week of my internship and have settled in as i know my way around (",). I have actually attended formal meetings and contributed a lot to the company as i am free to say out my ideas which in most cases some are considered. I am really learning the in depth of PR and what it is really about.Here its more practical than theory. Just LOVE IT!!!!
Well it has been a very busy week at work as we are preparing for a major event "GO-11 Concert" which is on the 11th of July 201o.For the past two weeks, i have been working very closely with my bosses so as to plan and organize the whole event. The company is aimed at having at least 6000 attendants that is why everything has to go according to plan.
The event plan is divided into Two sections till the major event, which the first one was
1. Press Conference
This is when the media was invited to hear about what the upcoming event which the spokesperson was Elisabeth Wong, who is the Minister of Tourism, Consumer and environment committee chairman.The main aim of the concert is mainly to promote Selangor at the same time bringing the Sengorians together as one.Here we were each assigned to come up with ten headlines for the media release, which was pretty interesting as it was not imaginary (as we always do at Uni lol) but rather real!!!!!.I was also assigned to call the media and ensure that they got the invites which were sent out out to the various media in Malaysia: Might sound easy but it takes hours lol.
2.Grand opening
The second stage was the preparations for the grand opening of the Selangor musical Extravaganza which was held last Saturday. For this event my main task duty was updating the media contact report and analyzing on the feedback of the media if they had published what was said at the press conference positively.

mmh sounds good ,thats what we mean by practical work for PR.You have to work hard dear ,you are tranining yourself for the JOB me too i am more onto the proposals, projects , programs and event management. I have to recruit people to come with me at one event at KL on 17 july 2010 called My successful story.
