First Blog for Wheelchair Sports WA

Hi Everyone!!
My name is Barbara from Bentley and this is my frist blog. Im currently doing my placement at the Wheelchair Sports WA Association Inc. I started my internship about 4wks ago now but have been really busy with uni, work and my internship.

Wheelchair Sports WA is a non-for-profit ogranisation which is located in NOR. The Wheelchair Sports WA Association is responsible for the management of all functions pretaining to wheelchair sports in WA. Athletes and members compete in State, Nationl and International competition in a variety of sports from wheelchair rugby, tennis, archery, swimming etc.
The Associations members are made up of people who's lives have been touched by physical disability including persons who have been impared due to spinal injury, apmutation, cerebral palsy and spina bifida.

They are currenlty creating a new website and ive been assisting them in updating and editing the old information into the new website. Ive been trasnfering and organizing things such as the news highlights, highlights on the homepage, corporate, schools, teams and sports section (which included me transfering and updating informations such as prices, contact details and new results).

A challenge that i am finding is that some of the links in the new website are broken. Ive gone through and managed to fix some of them but i cant seem to fix the link between the news highlights on the homepage and the news highlights to the actual news page and the actul team.
i.e. With each team there are news articles in regards to games they have played but on the website they want the news articles to also come up as an archive on the actual Teams page. I think i may have to get my manager to contact the IT guy for assiatance if he cant fix it.

Ive also had the chance to write up some feature articles for the Wheelchair Sports Newsletter about the 'Road to London' on the athlete members whom are going to the London Paralympics in 2012.

I also attened the Perth vs Brisbane Wheelchair sport game this past weekend in which i prepared the tables for the sponsors and prepared the brochures that were distributed in the game. I have also been asked to write a media release on the game to send out to community newspapers in Stirling and Wanneroo Times...which i am excited about.

Anyways until my next blog BYE!
