Hi everyone!
My names Alana and i completed my placement at the fashion label Manikinn on Beaufort st in Mt Lawley. My blogs will be reflecting back on my time at Manikinn because i have now finished my placement.
Manikinn is an Australian fashion label created by the lovely Shereen Huber. The company was based in Sydney but as of February this year she moved the offices back home to Perth.
On my induction day Kat (head of PR) told us Shereen wanted to get the Manikinn now out there to as many people as possible, especially targeting the celebrity market, as we all know once a well know young celebrity wears something your guaranteed success.
My mission was to spread the Manikinn name, create exposure. So on the first day my task alongside my fellow inter was to collate a spreadsheet of as many beauty salons and hairdressers across WA to send out a special Manikinn offer to ask their clients to come in.
After finalising all the details it was time to do the draining task of calling. I was prepared for a lot of rejection because i knew not many people knew the Manikinn brand.
Surprisingly however many salons were very supportive and excited to hear about Manikinn and accept the offer.
It was a long day but if did teach me the importance of building your reputation! Without a positive well-known reputation your business will get no where. Our long task of calling salons was building exposure for Manikinn and expanding their customer clientele.
Hope your enjoying all your placements! I look forward to sharing more of the experiences and skills i have learnt with you :)

Hey that’s great that you have already completed your placement!! It should have been exciting and challenging to work in a fashion company!!! Yes for sure to build a reputation and to spread the word around, you need to have contacts and the right ones. It is not an easy task but it is somehow an interesting task as you are not only gathering contacts for the company but also for yourself. And also not only should you find contacts but you need to know how to keep them. Also knowing which key words to use and how you are talking about your company are what will attract or not someone. I want to know more about how your internship went and what you have been doing. I’ll be waiting for your future posts.

Your internship is so interesting, it is a great placement for doing internship. When you work in not well-known brand, you need to prepare a lot of injunction. Actully, I am the same situation too, because my company is not well-known. I totally agree you said that building reputation is important. Our company is trying to build a positive image to customers too. I will be waiting for your future posts.
