"IMAGINAUTICAL 2011"

It's been an interesting experience so far,as weeks went by i could gladly say i looked forward to work everyday, because i started enjoying my task which really motivated me to perform better.
- · Invite guests and press to event (via email and phone call)
- · Prepare tagging/ place cards and program books
- · Prepare miscellaneous housekeeping items for VIPs such as fancy toilet rolls, air freshener, toiletries, slippers, robes and towels. and many more taks!and for the Event Day itself i was handled things like
- · Visit the venue one hour before the event.
- · Make sure that AV equipment are switched on and in good working condition
- · Ensure that refreshments, tagging/ place cards, program books and table cloths/ skirting are arranged at their respective places.
Imaginautical came from combination of two words: i) Imagination, that is the powerful state of mind or action of forming new ideas with every potential to invent.
and
ii) Nautical, a word concerning act of navigating at sea, a metaphor of direction to get to the means out of vast ocean of knowledge andpossibilities..
Imaginautical 2011 reflects multi-choices of thinking and strategy manifest by FCM class of 2011 commanded by their school of thought .
The graduating students of faculty of creative multimedia proudly exhibited their work during the faculty’s degree showcase ‘Imaginautical 2011’ held at Gallery, Lower Ground Floor, Faculty of Creative Multimedia, MMU.It was officiated by the deputy minister of information, communication and culture; yang Brhomat Dato Joseph Salang Gandum, also in attendance were dignitaries from industries, fellow educators and staffs and students.
It was definitely a great honor for students that their works were showcased as they had this self fulfillment knowing their earnest hard work paid anyway. The faculty does not have to tell it directly to the final year students to work hard, only the thought of their work being displayed will get them on their feet to put effort and produce an extra ordinary work. So in other words this kind of showcase does a lot of magic when it comes to motivating students to work hard and produce excellent results.
A very touching sight during the showcase was one of the students who has one hand happened to have his projects showcased, from his project concept he is using the opportunity to educate people on technologies that could be created to help those with disabilities. Other students who have such disabilities could be encouraged and this could b a message telling them ‘do not let your disabilities win’. Then imagine how those who have both hands would feel, they would definitely feel ashamed and challenged. If someone with a disability can study such a challenging course then what is stopping them with both hands, it really served as an inspiration.
One of the graduating students, Aifa Amalina said she had worked really hard in making her final year project in a public service Announcements PSA campaign to curb sexual harassment. ‘I put all my effort to do a very thorough research, and a whole year was utilized to come up with the pre-production, production, and post production of my work, it was a huge relief when I was able to complete all the required materials on time and I am pleased to say I am satisfied with the outcome being of the selected students to showcase my work.

The aim of this event is to create industry exposure and linkages as well as exposing the current students to the benchmark of final year projects in the field of multimedia and design.
