Here we go again!!

Talk about hitting the ground running. This week is turning out to be even more challenging than the past two! I have been asked to help with several different projects and am gradually getting better at multi-tasking and trying to stay ahead of the ball in order to not become overwhelmed by what is required of me over my final two weeks. My biggest task for this week however is the super competitive 'Corporate Development Day' an interesting concept at SPG which involves different departments being allocated an entire Friday afternoon in which they must entice other employees from different departments to come and learn about what it is they do/contribute to the organisation. The department which manages to secure the largest turnout wins a day off work with lunch and drinks provided, our target is 42 people and as a marketing/community relations/public relations and sales department we should definitely know how to draw in the crowds.
The day is pretty much a way of explaining to other departments how everything else works, as I'm sure those of you working in in-house Public relations and marketing departments would know sometimes its easy to forget about the workings of those around you as you become consumed with your own projects etc. Anyway, so what we as a department have decided is that we are going to is make this 'learning experience' more of a team building day and a way to make marketing and public relations fun, hence our carnivale theme (with circus acts and a gourmet lamb spit, games and drinks included!). So far i have made posters (changed every few days as the event comes closer, we found by doing this more and more people showed there interest and contacted us), I've also send of EDM's as teasers with the first containing a survey asking people what they wanted from the day. Without knowing by the time Friday comes around, every attendee will have been exposed to the world of Marketing and public relations in some form.
As i am now just over the halfway mark of my internship i feel as though already i have gained invaluable experiences which have definitely prepared me for my future ambitions.
I'll keep you all updated on how the event turns out as well as a new branding prospect!
Thanks for reading !!
