Hi guys,
As I have introduced my prep task for the SS12 event the previous post, now I am going to tell you more about the event.
The event lasted for three days. For the first day, it was only for the media. Before the event, I have to reach earlier to coordinate the models and prepare the buffet area. Also, I have to help my executive to do a dry run to ensure everything runs perfectly. During the event, I am in-charge of the registration table. It was a fairly easy job as I have seen most of the journalists from the past events.
For the second day, the event was a collaboration between a magazine, bank and the boutique. Only invited guests were allowed. This was more interesting as I am able to work with people from the magazine side. I was also able to learn from the journalists on how to do a proper pitching and what impress them.
The last day was an event specially for the socialites. I have to help manage the models and the guests.
Overall, it was fascinating as I got to see how the event change for different target audiences. It was also a good experience interacting with different media and knowing more about what they need and what would catch their eye. I have also realised that fashion may be something that I would like to do.
A point to note: It's good to remember journalists' name.

Hi Shu Rong,
Thanks for your blog. It was a really interesting read.
Particularly the third paragrpah where you mentioned that you were able to learn from the journalists how to pitch an article and how to impress them.
I wondered whether you were willing and able to share this information?
it would be very useful to know.
I also really like your notes to remember in your articles also.

Hey Shu Rong!
It was really nice reading your blog post and now I know it's better to remember the journalist's name. I haven't get a chance to work with the media but I think it is definitely important to know what impress them so that next time if you are going to carry on in the fashion industry it would be of good use.
It must be an eye opener as you get to see how the event changes for the different target audiences.
Wish you luck in the internship that you are doing and future career!

Hi Cornish,
I would really love to share the information but it would be difficult for me to do so as different journalist has different style. Maybe one thing you could do is to read their articles. It will really help as from there, you are able to see their writing style and what they are interested in.

Hi Wan Yi,
It was really an eye-opener for me as there were drastic changes as to where the stage will be and how would the models do the cat walk. Really learned a lot from the three days.
It's also a good experience to work with the media and I really hope you will get a chance to do so.
All the best to you too!
Regards
Shurong
