Hello everyone. GORATA TSAONE RAMOGALE here. I did my intern at Salina & Associates Public Relations.Salina & Associates provides a range of public relations consultancy services that include brand building, event management, celebrity endorsements, crisis communication and investor relations. Some of their clients include: Sepang International Circuit, Nandos, CIMB, Delicious, Tourismo Madrid-Spanish, Bio Oil, Aiken. etc.Source http://www.salina-publicrelations.com

Working in Salina & Associates was an incredible roller coaster because I learnt new this each day. My first week at Salina & Associates was a little bit relaxed because the boss was on a business trip in Singapore, so my colleagues just assigned me to do media coverage. This was just to keep me busy, while waiting for the boss to brief me on what to do permanently for my internship. This is the very same week when I was introduced to S&A staff, as well as their clients, I had to read and understand what they are doing. I was also briefed on the company’s style of writing press release, event management, interviews, invoicing, clippings etc.

Well, the same week was introduced to do " Media Coverage", which is the estimated amount to be paid by the client for the space in the media. I never heard of media coverage before, but I was thankful to do it because my colleague Shaiful was so patient to teach me. The formula that I used for newspaper was different from the one that I used for magazines, and I personally preferred the magazines because it was not time consuming as compared to newspapers.

Formula for newspapers: Height X Column X Rate + Color

Formula for Magazines: Full Page / number of clients in a page

Everyday in S&A Public Relations I had to do media monitoring and media clippings. Where by I had to scan and cut clippings from newspapers and magazines.
