Hi everyone
How are things getting on? Hope everyone is going well with your internship :)
Anyway just to refresh you all a bit, this is my second update after landing myself a placement in one of the non-profit organisation for the disabled in WA. It's called IdentityWA. Do check out their website here if you're free (although the new website is coming up soon)
Also, in my first update, as a student with double major of Film/Television and Public Relation, i mentioned that i was going to film a documentary about one of the residents from IdentityWA respite houses (video will be put up on website and send out along with e-newsletter if everything goes well) and yes, i just did it today.
It was not easy i would say and communication was quite a barrier. I find it rather hard understanding what they were trying to tell me and often they have unstable emotions so i was really careful with whatever i was saying because i think that it is important not to make them feel uncomfortable and they should of course feel more relaxed during the filming.
and this leads me to the NDIS-Make it Real rally. Well just in case some of you might not know, NDIS, which stands for National Disability Insurance Scheme is one of the campaign to protest for additional funds and support from the federal government. It was held today at Perth CBD and boy, it was a good turn out. Hundreds of people participate in this campaign to get the government to hear them. IdentityWA also did participate in the rally as well and i am proud to be there as an intern representing IdentityWA and a student of Curtin.

and a little warming up
The rally
I have to admit that this is definitely something new for me after having doing my internship in the tourism sector for 3 weeks in Sarawak. With the difference in cultures and working environment, i am sure this will be a fruitful and unforgettable internship for me.
That is all from me today and till next time :)
Thanks for reading!
