hello everyone!! my apologies for such a timing for first blogging (unforeseen circumstances). My name is Faith Mhaladi and I undertook my internship program at the Ministry of Local Government, Botswana. The ministry that is affectionately known as 'the people's ministry'.
The ministry has a public relations unit that is divided into units, being, radio, publications, customer care, television and IT. All these units are fully focused in public relations, to tackle issues that concern the ministry's publics which is the entire population of Botswana at large. The PR department has to disseminate internal information from within the ministry (services, queries, etc) concerning the citizens.
I was placed in the radio unit where we had to cover field events and compile the information to broadcast at the national radio for the masses of the key publics.not only was I confined to radio but I could move about all units to gain more experience, I also worked with the Publications unit, to write up articles, and also dealt with the customer care office to take calls and answer questions about the ministry's services as well as settle their queries and complaints based on the facts of what the ministry has to offer for the people.
The internship experience was all in all exciting and I learned a lot from the eight weeks of work. I also had an opportunity to meet prominent figures from the parliament and had a chance to rub shoulders and mingle with people of higher positions.
I hope you all had an exciting experience as I did and enjoyed every moment of it. looking forward to sharing with you and commenting on your blogg posts as well.
Faith Mhaladi
