Working in a Public Relations department, radio unit, reaching rural areas to disseminate crucial information to the public, about government services set out for their benefits was most possible through radio and kgotla (ward) meetings. Going to such remote areas proved that most Batswana are easily deprived of government incentives because of lack of communication modes.
As means to correct such, I prepared and compiled reports and current news from the ministry to broadcast on the national radio that reaches all corners of the country (broadcast signal). The program received good response from the target audience and great change was established as most gave feedback about the program and its content.
The Ministry then received more recommendations, queries, comments and were commended as response to the radio program. The ministry became a crucial link between the people and the government in terms of sending information to best benefit them. To name a few, such benefits were:
*Destitute support programs
*Orphans support programs
*Poverty eradication programs
*Community development*Remote area program
etc...
Such programs are crucial to the livelihood of Batswana as a nation. Connecting them with service providers was a great priviledge.
