Tlamelo Magdelene Letshwenyo
Pertanika Journals Division-Universiti Putra Malaysia
During my time at
Pertanika Journals, I was the only black African person, but my work with them
and being around them did not show I was not a citizen. I had a very good
loving family around me, they treated me in an appreciative manner. yes i faced few challenges as i was also the youngest of them all, working and sometimes controlling elders was not easy..well, I pulled through. Moreover, my colleagues trusted each other to a point that sometimes my boss gives me his computer password to update company information but rely it worked, no one had once broken
the trust of crossing the boundaries to someone's private information.
Like any other employee, being
punctual is very important. Punctuality at Pertanika Journals was very
important, from the way we dressed to the office, when attending meetings,
workshops, neat arrangements around our workplace. my supervisor told me from the onset that meeting the deadline was the first important rule in his office..so i worked very hard to fulfil that.. it was really interesting to work with Asian people.
