The Final Day in the Life of PR Intern

My last day at Hames Sharley was business as usual however; it was only my last day as an intern. The marketing department and directors overall expressed to me over a coffee they were extremely impressed with my work ethic and efforts over the past few months and therefore offered me part time employment during uni with potential to go full time after graduation (obviously depending on my performance).

As of last week, I am officially the Marketing Administration Assistant of Hames Sharley and the newest member to make a department of three operating nationwide. Although it is not strictly PR, I think it will be a great opportunity to gain some multidisciplinary skills and pave the way as my first role in a real career. I have worked my way up from hospitality, retail, reception and administration to now my first relevant role to my degree which is extremely exciting.

The best part about this opportunity is that I am continually learning which is a massive plus to the money. Some days are slower than others but I know I am in the right place when there hasn’t been a week that I haven’t learned a new skill, process, or valuable approach to PR practice in general. Overall, it has been a great experience.
