Hi everyone,
This will be the last post as it has come to an end of my placement unit at the Colosoul Group Inc. I have enjoyed every minute of it and it has made me realise that it is the industry I want to work in and I love how busy and hectic it gets, but at the end of the day it pays off and you see the work you have contributed and it is such a relief.
My last day at Colosoul was last week and I had such a good week as I got all the work done and met the deadline requirements, and establish all the contacts that I would need after the internship as I have decided to continue doing work experience/internship at Colosoul as I have been assigned as Event Manager at the next fashion event in 2013; Foxfeet 2013. To be honest I am really stoked about this, because this will be a great experience and I would be able to have the first step/move in Pr in Fashion as that is something I am very passionate about since I knew I wanted a job in PR. There are many challenges are deadlines to meet in such a hectic environment but I enjoy every bit of it and I do not mind doing it as it is a passion I have strongly about.
During my last day, I felt really sad that my internship has come to an end and that I had to leave Colosoul because they were not only colleagues to me but they were like a family. I could build a relationship with the volunteers, including Tricia Ray she is a very good mentor, she taught me the in's and outs of the industry and how I should behave in the competitive media industry if I wanted a full time paid job. She is a very good mentor and a friend, during working hours she lay down the rules and after she would talk to us as if she was our friend and also supports our decission in anything we were passionate about.
For those of you who are looking to get more hands on experience in the media and communication industry, Colosoul is a great way to jump start that career. they give you hands on learning exprience and also provide you the in-sight of how the organisation works in media sector. I will miss the friendly team and wellcoming nature of all the volunteers at Colosoul but it is time to say goodbye and finish my exams before I continue working on next year's fashion festival for Colosoul.
I have learnt that in the media sector there is no time waiting, there is always a DEADLINE and it is a bonus that in WA we have a media organisation that provides mentorship program for university graduates and young people to be able to come on board and see/hear what Colosoul has to offer to the community/public.
Till next time blogger.

Hi Maddy,
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your time at Colosoul, i've heard a lot of great things about the magazine from friends.
I can especially relate to always having to meet a deadline during your internship. My supervisor set up weekly meetings to discuss what i have been working on and achieved each week which was quite nerve-wracking!
Congratulations on being offered a position after you internship.
Sam.
It is so lovely to read that you found an amazing place as well as an amazing person to show you the ropes.
I would dare say not many would have had as an amazing experience as yours. Its also good that you learnt so much and you have found your vocation
Cheers

Hi Maddy
Sounds like you definitely chose the right placement for yourself. Good to hear you have enjoyed interning at Colosoul and you have worked out what you want to do in the future. I wish i could say the same!
That's amazing news that you'll managing the next fashion event. It sounds like you have gained some incredible experiences through your internship and developed some great skills for the future.
Colosous seems to have a great working atmosphere and corporate culture. I think a good standard of internal/employee communications is integral to successful operations and maintaining good relationships with all staff.
I've heard some great things about Colosoul from friends as well and it seems to be an excellent way to get a start in the industry.
thanks for sharing your experiences!
