Writing about yourself.... Not so easy.

So it was my first day interning at Networking WA. I was nervous and did not know what was to come. The first thing they asked me to do was to write about myself, introducing myself and why I am interning at Networking WA. As easy as it may sound, it was much harder trying to type it into words. This is what I ended up typing.

"Interning at Networking WA would help me understand how things work and what to expect from the PR industry. I am currently in my last year at Curtin University, studying public relations and film. Being that I will be graduating soon, I need that head start, so I could join the industry with a better knowledge of what is expected when faced with real clients and real problems. Having to apply what I have learnt from the various text books and case studies in university would be challenge and a great way to get a sense of the PR industry experience.

I had the chance of an internship at Networking WA from winning a challenge at a Think Tank challenge by Memoir Connect. We were faced with various problems from three different businesses and also had the opportunity to connect with the business owners. Given this opportunity, I would like to learn how the PR industry works and create results of a certain professional standard. As well as connect and broaden my contacts in the industry. "
