How ready can I get for my first day of being an Intern?
 - Cue Nerves [/check]

The first week of my placement for Borneo Tours & Travels really opened my eyes on how much I underestimated the great island of Borneo, my island. This company has been around since 1987, talk about knowing a thing or two these people live.eat.sleep Borneo.

Knowing my surroundings,
Prior to getting an internship placement here I got called up on a few offers but something spoke out to me about working closely with nature. I have always been a jungle girl loving the great outdoors, why not represent it and make the most of it while I can.

Working from a PR point,
Even though Planet Borneo focuses more on tours and travels In Borneo, there is no doubt that an establishment such as this needs a solid Public Relations foundation to run operations smoothly on a daily basis.

Orang Utans,Head Hunters and Mountains?
No, I have not gone mad but the above are some of the exciting Adventures that await you in Borneo. Planet Borneo customizes their tour packages to fit your needs. As the saying goes here,

"Whatever your dream, we have an adventure with your name on it!"

Brilliantly it is Visit Malaysia Year 2014 what exciting time to work at a place with a full itinerary filled with events and festivity.
Maybe some of you are familiar with the World Rainforest Music Festival? or the more recent Miri Country Music Festival? Well these are some of the events that Planet Borneo has worked with.
Besides that, Planet Borneo has its own Lodge/Loft, Planet Borneo Lodge is a company that I proudly represent due to its uniqueness. Its not everyday you get a travel and event company with its very own Accommodation.

Duties and Given Task,
Media Kit,Media releases,Media Clippings,Media Monitoring and Stupendous Photocopy Person!

Fitting in,
Lucky for me I came at the right time a day before the annual Branch Meeting, my first ever branch meeting if I may add. Meeting plus points;
  • Got to know all my colleagues, their ranks and job scope
  • In depth knowledge of the company stance (financially/socially/etc. based on figures and charts)
  • What We hope to achieve in the company and for Ourselves
  • S.W.O.T Analysis I guess it is safe to say I used it the first time out of the classroom!

In my month here I hope to learn the ropes on PR in Tourism and assist the company in the best way I can not forgetting my duties for my PR393 unit. I'm taking a deep breath, enjoying and looking forward to my stay here as an intern.
