Hi everyone,
In my last blog post I mentioned that I had
written a story about one of the volunteers. It was featured on the MSWA
website a few days ago so if anyone wanted to take a look at it here.
This week has been a quiet week at MSWA but I’ve
been working most of my time creating a manual for their new website. All the
staff previously had access to their old website and were able
to upload news articles, or information on events before getting approval. They
have changed this for the new website which I think is a great idea. The
Communications Manager has to approve any changes to the website, which means
less room for errors, and consistency throughout the each page.
The website manual has been an extremely time
consuming task. For every step I have to take a screenshot and explain what to
do in each page. This was challenging to begin with, as I barely knew how to
edit or upload images. I am nearly finished but each day the manual will almost
double in size.
I have also been working on a story for a
fundraising event called ‘Swim for MS’. Every year MSWA holds ‘Swim for MS’ in
Bunbury, Albany, Melville and Joondalup where swimmers form groups and continuously
swim for 10 hours to raise money for MS. On Saturday, the Albany Swim for
MS will be happening and I have a story prepared that will be featured in MSWA
magazine, The Bulletin. One thing I have really learnt here is organisation. I
use to think that stories were written after the event had taken place but here
some stories are written months in advance, and they fill in the blanks once
the event has passed.
This week we are filming a CEO update video,
which MSWA films every 3 months to update the Members and volunteers on MSWA’s
progress. I will be updating you on the video
in the next coming days.
Thanks for reading,
Gabby
