It's all over

I cannot believe my experience at PPR is over! I have learnt so much in my last 4 weeks than I have in my entire course at uni. I is amazing what you learn fully immersed in a PR consultancy. I had one last big event to go... the Santos Cocktail Party.

This was the event that I'd been assisting in planning for throughout my time at PPR. I made mood boards, PowerPoints, designed branding, hired retro cars and Go-Go Dancers, went to meetings with suppliers and PCEC and finally attended the event, assisting with the "bump in" (set up) and "bump out" (pack down).

We had difficulties with this event as Santos was very conscious not to objectify women and decided to change the theme (originally James Bond, for the 60th year Diamond Anniversary.

The night ended up being a huge success, the 350 blue leis I had organised to be shipped from Sydney adorned the guests and let everyone attending APPEA know that they had attended and that Santos has a great, fun environment.

By the end of the night I was tired, hungry and wanted nothing more to finally have a sleep in. I loved my time at PPR and encourage everyone to make the most of their few weeks interning, as it was the most fulfilling month of my life and now I'm done, I actually miss my full time "job."

Wow Casey, sounds like you were really lucky in your placement at PPR! That event looked pretty exciting. Is events something you see yourself doing in the Future?

A placement at PPR is such a good experience. I fully agree with you, this unit has allowed us to learn the more practical side of PR and put all our theoretical side of PR to use.
