I helped the Jetts club manager, Thomas, set up their stall for the Health and Wellness expo, which was being held in the Westfield Carousel shopping centre from 10am - 3pm.. I must say, I've honestly never seen or been to one of these before - and wasn't sure what type of crowd to expect or how many to show up. All in all there were a total of six participating companies: SKVOR Wellness, Bupa, HBF, Goodlife Health Clubs, Wizard Pharmacy, and our client, Jetts.
I donned the Jetts uniform and set to work trying to be as helpful as I could, stepping up to the plate to attempt to answer any questions that were asked of me. Throughout the day, I got to know the other people that were staffing the stalls. We engaged potential customers and people who were interested in the expo, and encouraged them to participate in our activities. I wanted to give our client the best service that I could of my ability, so I was nervous for my first ever event with TBH. Thankfully, all went well and at the end of the day we discussed ways that we could improve in the future.
It was a truly eye-opening experience for me with a lot that was learned that day. The day flew by incredibly quickly, with me getting more confident in my own abilities as the time passed. I found myself wondering what I could do in the future to improve my face-front with clients, and how I was expected, as a professional, to act (especially if I didn't know the answer to something). I also realised that I underestimated my own abilities. This realisation helped me understand that in future, I need to have more confidence in not only myself, but also my decision making abilities. It is our responsibility as the company to address any questions and needs the client has, as well as accommodate them to the best of our ability.

Hi Wendy! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one out there that's nervous when it comes to the first event. I was really nervous when it comes to making decisions as well for fear of making mistakes but it dawned on me that that's how we learn; through mistakes we minimize/avoid making them in the future. It helps to build confidence and for our experience to expand.
Just a quote by Eleanor Roosevelt to share regarding confidence:
"We gain strength and courage and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face... We must do that which we think we cannot".
So lets gain confidence with each experience we gain!
Cheers!
