First Day as a Public Relation Intern BLOG #printern #curtinsarawak

Good morning,

Today is my second day working as an intern in Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri. I am working under Corporate Management Division as a Public Relation Assistant. I started late because I was advised to start after Raya Holiday as there will be quite a handful of events during this festive season of Hari Raya, hence I will be ending my internship on the 28th of August 2015. Of course, by next month I will be working part-time as semester resumes.

So far I have completed a task given by my supervisor to summarise Pustaka Miri's membership brochure into two language which are English and in Bahasa Melayu. Knowing Pustaka Miri's brochure is outdated, I decided to make a modernised and direct content for the latest brochure. Besides that, I was introduced with the company's past Media Releases and Press Releases also the Media Clippings to be familiar with their way of writing.

Everyone is friendly here and literally everyone is offering me Raya cookies and cakes. I hope they will continue treating me with this overwhelming hospitality throughout my journey as an intern.

I can't say much for now, but I just felt like blogging about my first day. Until day 10th!

Hi Elaine,

I'm glad you're enjoying your time at Pustaka Miri. I hope that you get to enjoy your internship.

I too was introduced to my establishment's past and present media releases and media clippings to familiarize their way of writing. I had to go through a big file of it. It took me a whole day to read through everything. Sure enough, we have to adapt to the company's changes and be proactive in everything we do, especially now when we're stepping into the path of the real world.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Best regards,

Dear Elaine,

From Your Post i can see that you catching fun at Pustaka Miri yet focused on your main purpose of your Internship. I also encountered the issue of referring back to the past Press Release just to see their way of writing. It wasn't an easy task but yet it worth going through.I know is not an easy one but we have to be willing to accept change and also learn to adapt even if it means compromising. Be proactive like Jasmine said is the key when it all got to do with our future career. I wish you best of luck and i hope you enjoy the rest of your time at Pustaka Miri. Thanks
