Hi,
I just started my internship with a local communications agency (CD Communications Group Sdn. Bhd) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last week. First day was basically the compulsory routine where i show up at work, meet the HR person and get a place (e.g work desk, desktop and access card). As soon as i got my place in the department, i was greeted by friendly residents of the 1st floor of the agency where they helped me by connecting my desktop to the dedicated server and printer, share tips on where was the best places to have lunch and of course parking with minimal rates.
I did not get to see my supervisor until yesterday as she just got in from the UK. As soon as i met her, she gave me a serious task to handled immediately. I was shocked at first to be doing copywriting for an event topic and also assisting my co worker in preparing the media kit for an event held on October 17th. It was scary at first because i don't want to screw anything up since the vent will be officiated by the Prime Minister.
I went back home late at night last night after making sure that the necessary task i was assigned to was complete. A very tiring day indeed but the satisfaction to be part of an important event made me excited for the next day of internship.
Best of luck to everyone starting their internship or in the midst of their placement!
Cheers,
Khairi Ariff

Hi Khairi!
Its good to hear that your start in the internship went well. I wish you best of luck for the rest of it and I hope it only adds to your learning curve and experience.
When I started I too was surprised by how high the expectation of the work expected are. Public Relations work also seems to have no timings and can take up your entire day. So much for "working hours" eh?
But it is very rewarding work because you get to actually see the results of your hard work when everything comes together.
looking forward to more updates from you in KL.

Hello Khairi,
Congratulations on your placement! I hope everything is well until today!
Indeed, supervisors are expecting your best performances throughout your whole internship period. I was in charge of communicating with the public as well as VIPs and supervisor will always make sure I delivery the right message and my method of approach is PR approved!
But at the end of the day, it is you who will see your efforts come to life and it will bring you the rainbow you deserve for all the hard work! Got to face the rain before the rainbow right?
Hope you are doing great at your placement. And looking forward to your next post.
Sincerely,
Ivy Tang
