The importance of networking and personality in PR.

One of the biggest things that i have found in PR is that if you want to succeed in the buisness you need to have the personality, regardless of how many qualifications you have.

On my third week at PPR, we got invited to their client, Breast Cancer Care WA's 'Champagne and Cheese night'. It was a really beautiful night spent at their office in Cottesloe. Lots of women past, present nurses etc where there who all have something to do with breast cancer.

I observed the women at the function and took a better look at myself and really took away with me that networking and being able to have the personality trait to not be awkward in social situations and having the ability to strike up a conversation with a random is what sets you apart from people, especially in the PR industry.

Until next time,

Gemma

I completely agree with you on that, Gemma. Personality makes everything in Public Relations because it's more than just what you say to them, it's the feeling you leave with them once the conversation is over. First impressions are the most important as well, and will last as long as you know that person.
