Team work is vital in ensuring success within the organisation

Hi bloggers,

This week i learnt team work is vital when dealing with an issue that affects the whole organisation and its reputation.

In addition this week i was able to assist the corporate communications team at The Department of Government Housing with a number of  key points to focus on when it comes to the new development housing situated at Elizabeth Quay.

These key focus points included changing the public perception of affordable housing at Elizabeth Quay. More specifically to end the confusion between public housing and affordable housing which is currently affecting the housing authority’s ability to get support from People across the state. Who believe that there are some members of the public getting a free benefit ahead of others. As when in reality people participating in affordable housing programs are paying a proper portion of the market price through shared equity. The misconception has been accentuated by media articles including a cartoon, which appeared in the most recent Sunday times, this is attached below.

As a result of the cartoon employing negative connotations towards the new houses at Elizabeth Quay by the Deptartment of Government Housing it is evident from the points focused on above that the media and people have interpreted it wrongly. Once more as a result of the controversy and negative media attention surrounding this issue, it has caused the corporate communications team to think collectively and corporately in helping change opinions of people across the state. Henceforth creating a more positive media coverage for the implementation of house's at Elizabeth Quay. Furthermore through working closely with your team you are able to contribute more ideas, thoughts and opinions, and have them utilised and valued by your team mates which effectively enables you to  get the issue resolved quicker.

Thankyou for reading,
