very good morning to all of you,
It was on Tuesday 25th of November 2008, approximately 15h30 when Mr Jean Marie Richard received a call from one of his client, Mr Jacques D’Unienville, the Chief Executive officer of SUDS, the savannah sugar estate. He claimed that it was the first time in the history of Mauritius that the Savannah Sugar Estate touched a record high of 1100 000 tonnes of sugar cane crushed. My boss, Mr Jean Marie Richard Started to inform all the media both written press and TV. In other way we were trying the maximum level to urge the media to cover the historical event for the following day. The next day on the 26th November 2008, everything was schedule and the event was going to take place in the afternoon at about 15h pm. we started to send the invitation via mail, fax and call. We made the follow up and ensure if they got the invitation for event that is going to be held at SUDS. In the region of, 12h00 we started to organize transport for the press and photographer. we were already there, planning how to project this historical event to both the media and public. the media was in attendance at SUDS. There were the MBC TV, Le Mauricien, News On Sunday, and L’Express present on that day. grand ceremony started with a tractor loaded with sugar cane drove by Tristan Félicité, bringing it to the terminal for the crushing and it was accompanied with firecrackers’ Jacques D’Unienville thanked all the planters, employers of SUDS and most especially all the media who were present on that day. He gave an interview to the MBC TV and gave much information needed the press. He also declared that SUDS is reaping its fruits from his industrial project of centralization and modernization that he established in 2005. the historical event of SUDS ended with gratitude and refreshments offered to the journalists and staffs. The next day on the 27th November 2008, the press release attached with the fact sheet were sent to all the media. so this was my second memorable event and i think i've got a very good notion of how to manage an unprecedented event and how to project it to the media.
ok bye
take care everyone.
