me me me again..hello there. am sorry i have to publish a lot of things at the same time but i just want to share with you some good work i have been doing here at Weber Shandwick. When i first arrived i was working with the IT team. The clients are microsoft, intel, Dell, HP and etc etc.
Our main client here is Microsoft, so what i did was at 9am am in the office monitoring every newspaper to check if they is anything about microsft or its competitors. I had to monitor everything about its partners, competitors and the IT industry, if you miss anything then you will get it from the lady boss. The monitoring has to be out before 12:30.
You will think it is easy to monitor but it is not because they are guideline to follow. For microsoft we have categories, we have local news, which is anything about microsoft and from only local news, then we have corporate news, news about staff of microsoft and from local news too, then we monitored news about security and windows from local and international news. Microsoft cannot complain, they need perfection and the team i was working with, all of them were so intelligent, i felt like a black blonde if you know what I mean. Right now i know more than 15 local newspapers and all the television stations in Malaysia and them editors. Am glad to say i am finally here..advocacy starts here and am a real advocate...
I AM NOW WORKING WITH THE CORPORATE TEAM NOW AND OUR MAIN CLIENT IS MASTERCARD..PHEEW

hey mesh,
i too had to do media monitoring for our Hallmark client. Everyday i come into the office, it is the very first thing i do because it needs to be sent to the client by 10.30am in the morning. However, the procedure here is a bit easier as my company has subscribe to a media monitoring site where it updates you with all the media coverage for a specific client. If there is media coverage published out for Hallmark, it would show you which from which publication and would even provide you with the media clipping. So what i would do is take down the details, attach the media clipping and send it to the client.
it is much easier and convinient and you know that you wouldn't accidently miss out on a newspaper. Maybe you could suggest this??
