The busiest week of all

So, here again .. after so many weeks that I have spent trying to be so busy for my internship experience, I actually got what I wanted. But as they say, be careful what you wish for! The problem is in the media relation department there were 1 manager and 3 regular staff, which ... unfortunately ... in that weeks, 2 were absent because they were sick and both admitted into hospital! As sad as that was, I had so many jobs to do.

I have to say, it was when I first start experiencing really working! It was just not what any intern usually does around there, apparently ... I actually started working on making my own press releases (not just photocopying and printing them out ... WOW!) and also I had a lot of invitations to make ... and sadly I still had to be the one who faxes them out! May not seem like much a job, but it felt like one, cause I just want my first release to be good ... when its released :)

At that last two weeks, there were 2 major events! And it was so tiring. There was this one competition called "Let's Dance" with Grand Prize to Japan, and I had to again as usual treat the media, be in the registration booth and doing things such as giving out merchandises! The event took out the whole Saturday!

All and all this made it the busiest week, because I had to spend extra time being careful because it was my first feel-like PR job and I have two events to think about. Even as an intern that felt like a HUGE responsibility.

The second event, was the next day, which was the Sunday. It was a launching of Global TV newest TV show, called "Ojek Race". Ojek is a motor cycle, a common lower class transportation in Indonesia. And in this show, the Ojek Driver are given a trek to race in. In that day alone, there were 3 press conference, due to bad time management. The first one was of the Global TV chairman, the second happened because the Minister of Transportation came in late for the press conference and the last was for the reporters and journalists questions and answers, and if they want to try the obstacle trek.

The event again, took all day! By the end of the week, I was more than EXHAUSTED, I was just glad that it was all over and I wished in my heart that those who were admitted came back for work because ALL THE WORK were too tiring to take. But it was an experience that I appreciate, it showed me how public relation is all fun and no pressure. It was like a big sign saying, welcome to the real world :)

Dear Keisha,

Yeah, I must admit that internship can be really tiring and exhausting sometimes. But, seeing all the work and the tasks that you did for the clients and the company soothe away the pain. I never thought that working environment could be this hard but Im glad we both were being exposed early from this placement. Would you prefer working after grad or wait until you are ready enough to start a new phase of life?

Cheers~!
