So I'm half way there, 10 days into my placement at CSC promotions and it's been interesting. Sometimes I feel like I've made a mistake choosing a small company that doesn't have a specific communications or PR team, especially when I'm doing small office jobs that any high school intern could do.
In saying that, it definitely has it's exciting times. Currently CSC major project is the fashion parades at Galleria shopping centre. I've been attending meetings with my supervisor and the centre management, basically discussing what they want in terms of a fashion parade. I have helped find models in our database who are free and willing to do 12 shows, I've been liaising with the retail managers with what clothes to include and other little tid-bits included with creating a parade.
Other things I have worked on is a website launch and party, promotional work meetings, modeling competitions and photo workshops.
I do feel like I get more meaty roles now that they trust me a little. I guess in order to work your way up you need to start from the bottom. I'll keep that in mind for the future.
