Almost over...

I have almost come to the end of my placement. The past few weeks have been quite exciting as I've gotten to do a few more 'hands on' type jobs. In the past few weeks I have taken part in a brainstorming meeting and generated some new ideas for the business, written a story on networking which will be used on the website, attend meetings with the event venue for the next event (which even turned into some star spotting when Jennifer Hawkins was in the hotel lobby!), and most excitingly on friday I sold two advertising packages for the next event.

While I have officially finished my twenty days there is still the last event on Thursday which will be really exciting as there are some great speakers that I will get the chance to listen to.

I hope you have all enjoyed your placements as much as I have enjoyed mine.

Hello, Janelle. I'm Izni from LUCT. COngratulations to hear that you have managed to sell two advertising packages for the next event. That's a great thing that they had accepted your ideas seriously although you're just an intern. Anyway, may I know which areas of Public Relations does your agency specializes in? I asked because you said you sold 'advertising packages' and doesn't that usually given to advertising agency/advertisers instead of a PR agency/PR practitioners?

Hope you will be able to explain to me about it. Thank you;)

Hi Jannelle,

Congratulation for your story!!!!

I have been myself participating to few meeting with some of the staff to brainstorm on our client strategies. Each Monday, we have a meeting to discuss about our ideas and about what has been done so far for our client. As I am working in a small company, everyone knows everyone, and it has been easier for me to integrate myself.

Moreover, I was quite excited because during those meeting times I realised that building and keeping a good relationship with past, present and future clients are really important in business.
Unfortunately, I cannot go through to much details because of confidentiality; however, I found that if you want to succeed in PR, you need to be able to build and maintain a long and solid relationship with your key stakeholders.

I known that we all have been told that relationship was important during our degree; however, I can say now that it is one of the main thing that would help companies to succeed faster.
