A Perfect Start at Perfect Relations Consultancy

Its December 4, four days since I joined Perfect Relations, Hyderabad (India) as an internee in Public Relations. Before I dwell on my time as an internee in South Asia's largest PR consultancy, my introduction is due. I am Suhas Tadas, Curtinite from Sarawak Campus. I am writing this post after having gone through all your posts. They all tell a different story, different experience and that's what has motivated me to share my experiences on a regular basis with all my fellow peers here (apart from the marks that this exercise carries!!).
How I Got Into Perfect Relations?
Well it all started in Miri soon after my PR 300 (consultancy) exam when I approached my media lecturer Mr. Nuaiman for referrals in India for an PR internship placement. Voila! He happened to know Perfect Relations, which turned out to be South Asia's largest PR consultancy with over 20 offices in India and Sri Lanka including one in my hometown Hyderabad.
Soon after landing in India on November 18 and after some emails and customary phone calls, I was all set for the interview!
Casual Chat That Was An Interview
Perfect Relations is located in the city business district, some 10kms from my house. Walking into the office, I was greeted by my to be supervisor Salome who is a Senior Image Manager in the consultancy. The first thing that caught my attention was the homely feel of the office complete with dining room, kitchen, and a cook!
I made myself comfortable in the dining room with a steaming mug of Tea in hand as Salome conversed with me about my studies at Curtin, people in Malaysia, their culture, media there, what i think of Indian PR industry and my strengths. All the while preparing for the "interview" mentally (clever uh?). But turns out, the conversation WAS THE INTERVIEW! And seems I had done well.
Now that i have provided a gist of my journey to Perfect Relations, i safely assume that it will be easier for you all to follow my updates on my projects in my future posts (which will be later today or tomorrow). In my next post, I will share more about my work scope and some things i have learnt in the first four days at work.
But i must say, after my appointment i could not help but appreciate the PR curriculum at Curtin which not only trains us in the what's what in PR but also grooms us to be professionals. Thanks Mr. Yong. and oh yeah thank you Ms. Katharina!
Have a great time in your respective placements folks!
Sincerely
Suhas Tadas
