This is my first Public Relation job and I work as an internship in a Public Relation agency which is Salina& Associates Public Relation Agency. This is my first time work in a public relation agency. Indeed, I am a bit worry and nervous to work there. After a while which I spend two weeks with my colleagues, I find it comfortable. Of course I am not saying only the working environment but also my boss and colleague. Basically, Salina&Associates PR giving a comprehensive range of public relations consultancy services that they provide event management, brand building, celebrity endorsements, investor relations as well as crisis communication. The reason that the agency comforts me and do not make me feel nervous anymore is because of their enthusiasm towards their work; respect each other, honesty and also passion in Public Relation field. I think this is a public relation practitioner needs and therefore they make me feel gleeful to work with them. The CEO of S&A which is Selina bt Dato’ Seri Yeop Junior she is an live example of PR practitioner I can see all the requirement of becoming a PR person on her. She always emphasize that Public Relations is not all about heels and parties but a series of hard work. My first week of working in S&A basically was doing some media follow up of press release. I need to call the newspaper and also magazines editor to check and make sure they receive all the pre and post event release. I find it important though this is a small tiny things, it is part of a practitioner job to make sure the editor receive the release so that at least our press release stand a chance to be feature out on the newspaper and also magazine. Meanwhile, I was able to get a chance to know who are the editor, sub-editor, and journalists for different newspaper and magazine. It is very important to know them by hard because they are the one who decide whether to publish your agency event or not. So before I get to see them and know them in person, it is always good for me to know their name first and after I see them in person I could try to build a stable relationship with them. This is my first blog of expressing my working experience in S&A , more will be post in the following weeks. J

FYI, Selina Yeop was recently interviewed on BFM 89.9 (http://www.bfm.my/organising-the-perfect-business-event-selina-yeop-jr-salina-associates.html).
Its true that PR isn't about "heels and parties" as you say. My colleagues told me the biggest misconception about this business is that it is glamorous. But its really a lot of hard work!
It does NOT primarily involve looking pretty and attending glitzy parties. Rather, anyone looking to get into PR should be willing to break a heel or two.
haha,you heard it frm BFM?
yea,PR is all about hard thn just having 9inches heel XD
